The Owl Keeper is an engaging fantasy novel for middle grade readers, but obviously it worked for me quite well. The story is set in a dystopian future where the world has been polluted by the Great Echelon, the enemy-state who has created a propaganda campaign against just about everything and uses mind control, poisonous chocolate, nanny spies, and mutagenic injections to control people's behaviors.
