This was a prophetic read in this era of COVID. Many of the scenarios in "The Flu" becomes facts of life as we moved through the pandemic.
I wasn't sure at first what to make of this book. The first half of it was like two separate books in one. You have the disease and the initial reactions to it and also the saga of Dylan, Mick and the residents of Lodi, Ohio. Well this was a surprise. I was expecting dross but it's quite a page-turner. Not brilliantly written and the characters are cardboard cutouts, but you do engage with the story. Recommended for fans of the PA genre. Every time I hear someone cough my heart misses a beat. On finishing it I immediately started reading the sequel.
