This book had an odd, 'young adult' feel to it for me, probably because Counrtney was 17 when the zombie outbreak takes place and 22 when the story catches up with the present. Her whole teenage angst is mixed with zombie survivor guilt and a ridiculous vinegar-drinking episode that is so horribly embarrassing to our young, badass, zombie-killing Black Berert that Courntey stays hidden in her safe house for 5 years. Pretty classic zombie stuff. Not sure if this book is trying to insert its self into the Romero world of the "Dead," but the name seems to imply it does. I liked the main character, but the story was too short. I was hoping for more.
