Post-apocalyptic romance - what isn't there to love? A few things actually and I found a lot of them in the first book of this series. The two main characters in the first book came across as typical and formulaic - the slighty scary brooding loner and the beautiful, kick-ass woman who teaches him how to love. Loved this book almost as much as the first one in the series. Thankfully this book can be read as a stand alone, and probably IMO enjoyed a little bit more, since the reader wouldn't have any preconceived notions of Chris as a wutz. Which he's not, at least in this book.
I love the feel of the Valley of the Braves and the opening scene that remind me of Mad Max and Border Town.
