After catching this film, I found out that the film was adapted from a novel which I then had to check out. The basic premise is that a group of Australian teens and young adults go on a camping trip to a remote area and return to find that their country has been invaded. The group must not only learn how to survive and come to terms with their new situation, but come to an agreement as to what they should do about it.

Wow, John Marsden. Where did you come up with this stuff? I still have dreams about this novel, nearly two decades after reading it. I almost can't find a criticism of this story, which makes it really a waste of a review, except to note that the series started to gone downhill after the first two or three books - once they left the homely town of Wirrawee, and starting either making raids in other areas or retreating to other parts, the wheels started to fall off the wagon, so to speak.
