I am shamelessly adding my own book (without a rating) to get one book closer to my 2012 book challenge total. I proofread it this year, and since that has the word read in it I feel I am justified. Actually, I know that is very weak, but I am 8 books behind. I am desperate!

When I picked up this forlorn little book, left on a "changed your mind?" cart in the library, I was expecting to only mildly enjoy what looked to be a spooftastic novel. Imagine my surprise! Yes, there were moments of irony and cringe-worthy karmic retribution, but this was also a really fun and fast-paced book with (mostly) likable characters. I would like to hug the author of this book.

I found this at Half Price Books, and bought it strictly because the name was hilarious. How could anyone NOT want to read a book called "Apocalypse Cow"? I didn't even care at the time if it was going to suck or not.

Turns out it was brilliant. An absolutely hilarious book. The characters were quirky and lovable and wierd, the situation was downright ridiculous, while managing to be terrifying at the same time.

What a wonderful read. I want a sequel.

Funny adventure book which follows an unhappy journalist, unhappy teen nerd of super hippy parents and an unhappy slaughterhouse worker as a virus created by the British govt for biological warfare is accidentally released and infects first cows then other animals and turns them into flesh craving zombies meaning that the island of Great Britain is sealed off from the rest of the world. Funny and exciting!

This needs to be made into a movie written, directed by and starring Simon Pegg. Can’t wait to read the sequel!
