Lots of this book is brilliant. As the child of an ANC operative, Msimang lived in Zambia, Kenya and Canada and finally college in the US while her parents lived for a time in Ethiopia. I laughed. I cried. My chest felt tight. This book was an emotional roller-coaster. I have always been a fan of Sisonke Msimang’s writing. She is courageous. She doesn’t pull punches. She’s smart. She makes sense. She challenges us. I wouldn’t let anybody talk to me until I finished reading Always Another Country.
