What Members Thought
An enjoyable read with strong prose and a really inventive, practical type of magic that feels like the world really works. Jon's character growth was strong but I felt other characters really only scratched the surface. The "fireside" tone is accessible, but combined with the overall plot and the ending, makes the story feel a bit like a prologue rather than the whole story. There are certainly some strong bits, in particular how Jon interacts with the magical techniques of ironmastery he learn
