Bottom line, I enjoyed this novel a little less than his first two. too many narrators to keep hold of the thread of the story. Clearly Hosseini is still compassionately involved in the fate of his ancestral nation, Afghanistan, but his tone here involves a sort of loss of innocence and surrender of hope, at times, painful. It is not a Bad Book- but I do not think it will serve to expand his readership.

I love his writing. This book was different from the previous ones but I still enjoyed it. The one downside for me is that he introduced characters and just dropped them...hmmm.
