This was a really great book, and actually not what I thought it would be at all. Upon finishing it, I am not surprised to know that it was a pick for the "One Book One Community" programs this year. The writing was fantastic, and the story intriguing. Though I obviously did not experience Katrina for myself, after reading this I sort of felt like I did in a way. I felt the panic and the rage and the sorrow. As I read I found it hard to imagine that so many of these things happened the way they did...still, I enjoyed the reading experience and would definitely recommend the book to individuals or book groups...great discussion book.
