This is probably gonna end up being my favorite book of the year! So good!!! I was crying, and yelling at times. So many emotions in one book. Loved it!!
It had some excessive "tug at the heartstrings" moments, but overall I loved it. Especially the images in painted in my head of Alaska.

Fun read, but really felt like (especially towards the end) it was overly ambitious with the amount of tragedy that can befall a single family. I mean in one book you've got: Vietnam POW, PTSD, spousal abuse, alcoholism, child abuse, threat of nature, brain damage, lung cancer, murder/self defense, teen pregnancy, and fear of government collapse/preppers. Whew. Did I forget anything?
