This felt like a love letter to library and book lovers everywhere. While it starts with the mystery of the fire, it also includes everything from the history of libraries, gender pay discrimination, history of book burning and fun facts about authors like Ray Bradbury. The section about libraries across the world (on trains, boats, shared between farmers homes, on horseback, etc.) gave me chills.
I enjoyed this, but WHO really started the fire??!! Is this honestly still unsolved??!!

What a fun read! Orlean got me all jazzed up about libraries and just how magical it is that they even exist. If you love books, I definitely recommend!
