The Selection is a competition that’s been part of royal history since forever. Basically, there are thirty-five girls who are called the Selected. They compete for the Crowned Prince’s hand in marriage, and they also compete to become the Princess of Illéa. All of the Selected must be single and of the ages 16-21. They are sent to sent and fill out an application that will be returned to the State Providence Office, of their providence, with a picture of themselves. Upon being Selected, they travel to Angeles to meet the man whose affections they will be competing for during their entire stay at the palace. These thirty-five girls get a chance of a lifetime. They have the opportunity to escape their old lives, and to start anew. To be swept up in a world of glittering crowns and priceless jewels. That is if the Northern and Southern rebels don’t take away their one-in-a-lifetime chance. Will the prince be able to choose his bride before an all-out Civil War is unleashed in Illéa?

In the land of Illea, there is one great tradition. It is known as the Selection. When the heir of a royal family, the crowned prince, turns 21, a selection is thrown into their lives. Thirty five girls from each Province in Illea are chosen and brought to the palace for this event. The prince dates each one, and through eliminations, he slowly gets rid of them until he finds The One. The one who will be his bride, the future queen of Illea. As he marries and starts his family, his siblings have their own selections, furthering the royal family. But it all starts with the first born prince.

Will your selected girl be chosen? Will she be the future queen? Will she break the rules and be executed for it? Will She find herself falling in love with someone other than the prince?

Not only do they have to worry about the Selection, but also the rebellion. There are two rebel groups. The Northern Rebellion cause minor disruptions for the good of the people. They rarely get into the palace and when they do, not too much havoc is caused. The real enemy is the Southern Rebellion. A group of cutthroats who attack only a few times a year, but when they do, people die. People always die.
