Ellinor The Hunger Games shouldn't be on this list. It's Dystopian, not Fantasy!

Yea, I was surprised to see it on the list as well. There's nothing fantasy about it.

Alison Logan The Sarantine Mosaic by Guy Gavriel Kay - Sailing to Sarantium and The Lord of Emperors - best ever.

Mina Take down The Hunger Games. I'll be the first to say it's awesome (despite the striking similarities with Battle Royale) but it's dystopia/SF, no fantasy there.

message 55: by Mina (new)

Mina Take down A Clash of Kings, on page 3, it's a number #2 of the series. We're already voting for A Song of Ice and Fire on its first novel, A Game of Thrones.

message 56: by Mina (new)

Mina Take down King of Thorns, and Harry Potter #6 and #7

message 58: by Kim (new)

Kim Murray Big omission - The Wars of Light and Shadow (Curse of the Mistwraith) by Janny Wurts !!!

message 60: by Jason (last edited May 20, 2014 07:58AM) (new)

Jason Read at least one book each for the T25.
Highlights: Harry Potter, Dresden Files, Dark Tower
Mistborn, Narnia, His Dark Materials
Lowlights: Mortal Instruments, Eragon, Earthsea, Belgariad

The rest are various levels of okay/decent.

message 61: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Several sequels deleted, plus these for not being fantasy:
Uglies trilogy
Ender's Shadow
Maze Runner
On Basilisk Station
The Hunger Games
Under the Never Sky
Found

Robin Hobb deserves to be there

I agree there! Great books. They should be on the list.

The list isn't for ..."

I think the films had just a tad bit to do with with the popularity of the books. :p

V.M. Sang Vanessa wrote: "Where is the Sherlock Holmes series? I believe they could be listed!"

I don't think so. I would never class them as fantasy, great books that they are.

Which is a branch of SciFi, which someone has suggested is in itself a branch of fantasy, so on those grounds should be on the list.

message 67: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Ford Ugh, the books that are repeated in some form or another really need to be deleted. They are confusing the matter and keeping some really good books far down on the list, because people double vote.

message 68: by Julien (new)

Julien V Removed duplicates (extra Harry Potter and Mistborn).

I wonder if the Dresden files should be here since it's clearly supernatural 'urban' fantasy (And also Maximum Ride...)

message 69: by Julien (new)

Julien V removed other unnecessary duplicates: sword of shannara trilogy, lord of the rings, his dark materials, a wrinkle in time...

message 70: by Julien (new)

Julien V Removed a bunch of other duplicates past #100, and also some sequels.

message 71: by Kristian (new)

Kristian Frank The Night Angel triology is found both at spot 19 & #73

message 72: by Julien (new)

Julien V Removed!

message 73: by Mitchell (new)

Mitchell Friedman There is another list a lot like this one. Best Fantasy Series Hidden Gems.

If we made this list have a minimum requirement of 40,000 ratings, we could split the space between these two lists and effectively improve both.

message 74: by Bill (new)

Bill Cummings Why does this list have books listed individually. They should just have the name of the series listed as a whole... unless that isn't possible on Goodreads....

message 75: by Adrian (new)

Adrian I will have to admit that there are loads of books in this list that I wouldn't class as being fantasy. Not a great list if I must be honest.

message 76: by Victor (new)

Victor No Witcher ??

Luca the Jellyfish Queen Deleted several books at the end of the list (all later books in a series)

message 78: by Abby (new)

Abby What about the Red Queen series!? That should be number one!!! DX
