Can u really even begin to compare it to Harry Potter?"
i know! thats what ive been telling everyone but they all act like its their god. Harry potter is about trust, love, friendship, and courage where as twilight is about... having a boyfriend?

50 shades of gray is actually twilight fan fic. never read 50 shades of gray but it sounds horrible. I loved the help!!!!!!!

Me too! Did you see the movie?"
no :( but i really really want to see it!

You really should! It's soooo good! I mean, it's a little inapropriate, but my nine year old sister could watch it, and something tells me your over nine years old!

Merit is a relative thing. If someone enjoys reading the book, then it has merit to them.

i think that the hunger games is better than harry pooter they suck

Wrong. Sooooo wrong. Twilight is badly written, sexist, and if you removed the love story from e..."
Much as I hate to defend Twilight, I feel like we need some moderation somewhere in this discussion. I have read both Twilight and Harry Potter.
Twilight bothered me on a few levels. For one thing, it was poorly written. I did find Bella weak, unrealistic and a huge blow to teenage feminist heroines everywhere and I would classify her relationship with both Edward and Jacob as abusive. I found the story lacking and was disappointed with what I felt was the squandered potential of some more interesting characters like Carlisle Cullen and Rose.
However, while I was reading it, despite my criticisms of it, I really did enjoy myself. It appealed to something in me, maybe not a part of myself that I'm particularly proud of but there you have it. I read it quickly and moved on to the next one, until I'd finished the series.
I do think Harry Potter is better. I enjoyed the story more with it's twists and turns and sudden surprises. Even the secondary characters were well developed and lovable. Hermione, Ginny, Lily Potter, Tonks, Luna, they were all great, strong female characters and their relationships were genuine and touching. I wouldn't rank in the top hundred well written books of all times, but I don't think that's a bad thing either.
But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy Twilight while I read it. You don't have to be one or the other.
Which is part of the fun of reading and comparing great (or not so great) books.

"Gay" is not an adjective you can use to describe a book, and it is not an insult either.

You are SO wrong! 1. Lord of the rings is bad, 2. Harry Potter is worse 3. Twilight is THE worst!

twilght is ok"
twilight is was and will be always terrible and has been banished from my bookshelf and resides in the infinite darkness under my bed.
