Kristen Lee Waran I just bumped into this novel, Dream Caster , the other day. I spoke to the author and got an ARC and read it in just a little under 2 days.

It's a wonderful read that I'll recommend to anyone who enjoys YA, Dystopian, Fantasy

message 674: by Eliakim (new)

Eliakim Insong i want to have a hunger games book

message 675: by Muniyath xD (new)

Muniyath xD I can go on how bad Twilight is, no joke. Not cause she has two guys falling for her, none which are human or the fact that she's horrible influence. Its just how perfect her life is without any sacrifices. They don't even a war. Seriously. Her DAD even knows. The story line is whatever but the writing... dear lord.

message 676: by Emma (new)

Emma I am a supporter of Twilight! I think every book series that becomes extremely popular always has some supporters and some haters. Like Twilight, Harry Potter, and the Hunger Games! Some people love them, (like me!) and some people think they suck. It's just a matter of opinion.

PERCY JACKSON FTW!!! <3

message 679: by Ciara Jane (new)

Ciara Jane Roncales I love Hunger games series!!! Especially the first book when things are just simple, kill or be killed. Then comes the second book where they come back to the arena and last (and honestly a bit boring) book where the rebellion rises and there are many revelations..... And, I liked the ending.... :) It deserves to be on the top list!

message 680: by Steven (new)

Steven Some of these I wouldn't want my daughter (a young adult) reading.

I'v written a series its titled CONSPIRACY (Orphans of the VOID #1) You will find it here on Goodreads.

Emma Deplores Goodreads Censorship Many of these books either were written for adults (1984, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Pride and Prejudice, etc.) or were written for younger children (Charlotte's Web, Ella Enchanted, The Secret Garden, Where the Red Fern Grows, and so on). It's hard to vote on a list when many of the top books are ones I like, but which don't meet the list's parameters.

message 687: by lovebook (new)

lovebook twilight has its own quality , it is a wonderful book with great lines . so is harry potter but twilight feels better :)

message 688: by Óscar (new)

Óscar People should vote on the five least voted Harry Potter books.. They all belong to the first page of this listopia..!
;-)
I just can't understand why the first book of the series has more than 10000 votes and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has a mere 102 votes... ...

Stephanie Caralyn wrote: "Twilight is waayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Harry Potter, Christina. And I read both."
Okay, we all have a right to an opinion, but any person who studies English and literature will say that Harry Potter is technically better... meaning, it is written with a better style and uses figurative language with much more originality and creativity. Also, I've read both as well and was in love with Twilight until I got a little older and realized how terrible it actually is. I mean the main character pretty much tried to kill herself after her boyfriend leaves her. From a person who has personal experience with suicide I can say that that is NOT a character I aspire to be like and from a person who also has a serious relationship I can say that love shouldn't be like that. It's not healthy, however young girls read the books and get a bad message. Harry Potter has better morals in life. So, when you really analyze it, Harry Potter is better. Without Harry Potter YA fiction would be nothing compared to what it is now and no books save The Bible and Don Quixote (which has been around since the 1600's) has sold as many copies as HP. But you can have whatever opinion you want, I just wanted to explain why I disagree, and most people learned in English would also. I mean at my college we have a Harry Potter Lit course...

Idk I think the fourth is the worst because while I agree it has more of a story line it's so outrageously done. It all ends too perfect. They don't even fight. SOMEONE needed to die... or get seriously injured at least. It was way too clean and unrealistic. Also, it was so obvious. Stephenie Meyer tried to make the pregnancy a surprise, but Meyer has never really been that good with subtlety so I figured it out at the very first hint of it and then had to frustratingly keep reading for more than a chapter until Bella caught on herself.. haha

message 692: by Liani (new)

Liani why isint amanda hockings watersong on here?! or sophie jordans firelight? seriously you guys! the books you said to read were only just ok... read some of these:

apprilynne pike:

sophie jordan:

message 693: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Two series come to mind (neither particularly new, both are good for guys and girls): Animorphs (which is what Stepahnie Meyer's "The Host" strongly reminded me of) and Diane Duane's "So you want to be a wizard" series. Also suggest historical fiction - "nurse and spy", "gentle annie", etc.

message 694: by Diana (new)

Diana Phuong Crime and Punishment and Green Eggs and Ham can be read by people from ages 12-20. Readers of these ages can learn and enjoy them because they are accessible and classics, which means that they can read over and over again.

message 695: by Adam (new)

Adam Brewer can somebody help me find a certain book series that i read in middle school never got to finish and forgot the names.

message 699: by Zethaslin (new)

Zethaslin Neep... I haven't read Twilight, but according to [almost all] my friends, it sucks. Big time. ...And I was never into romance or vampires, either... So I just never bothered to read it! :/

I know this is an old post of yours, but look into Dust Lands. The first book is Blood Red Road. Takes Hunger Games up a level.
