Greek Mythology Retellings!
Titles based:
-Clearly based on Greek Mythology
-Set in mythological or modern times
-Must be literary or thriller/fiction based.
-No Young Reader titles, please!
-No titles that just "fit the category". If you didn't love the book, don't add it!
I'm kind of trying to build a list which we can reference as "if you liked this, try..."

Unfortunately this site doesn't allow you to edit what people add to your list without jumping through a bunch of forum hoops. 😒

both Michaelides books do reference and have strong plot points around Greek myths, though i agree that neither is a retelling at all

So, the Silent Patient IS a retelling of Alcestis' myth. I'd go look that up...he was VERY clever!
As far as The Maidens go, have you ever read any stories about Dionysus and his Maenads? It may not be a direct retelling of a specific myth, but one wouldn't exist without the other. :)

Where the Wild Ladies Are is based on Japanese folktales

Technically what I can find is that "A Secret History" is heavily inspired by the Greek play "The Bacchae" by Euripides, which focuses on the god Dionysus and his wild, ritualistic followers.
Side note... A Secret History is amazing!
