Kristen Jorgensen If you are following current children's literature, and wondering which book will take the next Newbery in 2010, the Mock Newbery Book group might be one you would enjoy.

Mary Lee I still need to read Calpurnia Tate and this is the first I've heard of Dani Noir, so that's a must-read, too. I just finished All the Broken Pieces -- WOW!

message 3: by Josiah (new)

Josiah Does anyone here know if Neil Gaiman's Odd and the Frost Giants was eligible for the 2010 Newbery Medal? The copyright information in the version that I have seen lists only 2009 as the copyright date, but several places online (including here on Goodreads) say that it was first published in the UK, in 2008. Any light that can be shed on the scenario would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Kay Normally I wouldn't read books like The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, because i prefer romance and such, but I tried it and I LOVED it!! It was an amazing book(:

Trying new books is really worth it :D

Aayusha I love where the mountain meets the moon. That's good book

message 6: by Lovekitty (new)

Lovekitty A lot of good stuff here. I love YA and MG lit. This list is perfect for referring to when I want to go to the library and I don't know what to read next.

Mary I was looking over these older lists and I had to laugh out loud at The Lion and the Mouse being on this list.
