I really like this list although I think it's missing some...The BFG by Rhoald Dahl? The Bruno & Boots books by George Korman? Nancy Drew. The Wayside School Stories, and There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom by Louis Sachar. Those are some of the first ones that got me into reading.

I think "The DOM wars" 1-3 and 4-6 needs to be removed from this list. Not exactly for youngster that are reluctant readers as it is BDSM erotica. Also the "Ruin" series.
only problem is that it doesnt give any suggestions! already read them all. :(
If one wants to scare off a reluctant reader forever, one should advice him or her to read A Clockwork Orange (#347)...Don't get me wrong, it is a great book and a magnificent accomplishment, but it is certainly not the kind of book suited for reluctant readers and it certainly will not encourage youngsters to read, as it is far too difficult.

Because some of these books aren't targeted toward children...."This list is under the "children's" category, so that's like middle grade (MG for short) which is typically ages 8-12/13 so yeah books like twilight or hunger games shouldn't be on here, those are young adult or YA novels.
