A lot of nominees! I've read eight of them previously, and as I'm currently reading a Faulkner I'm disinclined to read another in Jan, so that cuts half of them out for my vote. I'm going with either "Swann's Way" (a long one) or "Corelli's Mandolin", although re-reading "A Confederacy of Dunces" after several decades appeals to me also.
Wow. I just went on to my library's website to place a hold on Alias Grace. For the ebook editions, there's a 14 week long waiting list at one library and a 1 YEAR long waiting list at the other!
Even the paper copies have multiple holds on them.
Is there a movie coming out or something?

Yep, I realised that after reserving a library eBook copy. It's available in March!
I actually got the book from the library already. It's on the dining room table waiting for me!
The mini series is available in the US on Netflix. I watched it last week and it was pretty good, although it's been several years since I read the book so I'm not sure how faithful it was to the original. Margaret Atwood has a cameo in this TV series too, as she did in the Hulu adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale. I was fangirling. ;-)
I recorded the show when it aired, but I wanted to read the book first. Also recorded The Handmaid's Tale, but haven't read it yet.
