Shella I highly recommend The Planet Earth is Blue- great vehicle to assist students to develop empathy toward their autistic peers.

Tracy Detz I think Right as Rain by Right as Rain would be good to read for September. They all look wonderful, I can't wait to read them!

Rachael I like "To NightOwl from Dogfish", "Planet Earth is Blue" "lost Girls" or "Right as Rain"

Shella For those of you that have read the winner of this poll- help me get motivated to read it. I'm just not seeing anything distinguished about Parent Trap with a modern twist. Maybe it is the exhaustion of the start of school- but I'm needing a push to read this one. It is sitting on the hold shelf at my local library.

Cindy Baumeister Shella, like you, this was a book I passed over many times. I had little or no interest and didn’t vote for it in the poll. However, I am glad this poll encouraged me to pick it up! It is an endearing story of friendship between two girls that would never normally become friends. The idea that every family is unique and special and shouldn’t be judged or stereotyped.
To Night Owl from Dogfish is one of my favorite middle-grade reads of the year!
