Amy D. I'm glad Moderator Recommends is being added back - helpful for those of us doing the Motley Challenge! (Reading a Moderator Recommends is one of our challenges.)

Linda I’m going to read The Guncle whether it is chosen or not. I read the description and reviews. It hit me as spot on for the moment in my life. Not all of these selections had that effect. Hope it is voted in. I had to put it on hold, so I guess it’s currently popular.

Josie The Guncle is already on my tbr, but I feel like I need to read it now in solidarity as the poll dropped that all important G in its spelling 😉

Stupid auto-correct! It's been fixed.

Kristine The Sanatorium sounds like a really intriguing book. Amy, thanks for reminding me that it is part of The Motley Crew Challenge. I love seeing the books the moderators recommend.

Kim Kaso I read The Sanantorium with a different group when it first came out, and despite all the hype I was left cold. It was, for me, a “meh” book. One of my pet peeves is author’s who depend on plot rather than writing engaging characters. I have read so many mystery/suspense/thrillers that the tricksy plots do not work on me anymore, and if I cannot care about the characters, it is an unrewarding read. But by the voting, it looks like it will be a winner. I will read one of the other books on the poll.

I read The Guncle last year and REALLY liked it. It was sweet and funny. I'd recommend it.
