I've heard that before, so I will change the poll a little. It did win the 2008 Cybil Winner for fantasy and science-fiction, though! (I would say THG counts as sci-fi, which should be defined as a subgenre of fantasy.)

I am no expert, but I thought fantasy, science fiction, and dystopian all fell under the heading of speculative fiction.
I don't think I could pick a single book as my favorite, but I chose Lord of the Rings in the poll as it was the book that made me fall in love with fantasy.

I've only read half of these, so out of those, I choose Lord of the RIngs. :)
I'd say The Silmarillion, but I haven't finished it. XD I put down LotR, and I also loved The Hobbit, but I didn't read it with the group.

I vote for the Hobbit. My other option had been The Lord of the Rings especially the Fellowship of the Ring, and the third The lion, the witch and the wardrobe.
I chose Fawkes because after reading it for Faith and Fantasy, it ended up becoming one of my favorite books ever.🥰

i’ve read some of these but i heard that heartless is a really good book so i’m gonna say heartless
The Hunger Games is one of my favorite books ever (the whole series is), I'm not quite sure why. I love the plot and the characters, and I always enjoy a series with a rebellion (regardless of which side the MC is on). I do like a lot of the others, too, though. Fawkes and Heartless are both great, and I really like The False Prince and Resistance. I do like The Lord of the Rings too, but it's not my favorite. (don't kill me)
