⭒Giveaway Opportunity, Please Read! Hey everyone, I am currently working on a fantasy-based Etsy shop for tees and sweatshirts, and I could really use your input! Everyone who thoughtfully answers these TWO questions will be entered into a giveaway, either for a bookish sticker bundle (US) or for a $5 Amazon gift card (INT)! Q1: What are some names you think would be suitable for the shop? (See comments for shop description.) Q2: If you could see any book/author/fandom represented in the shop, what would it be (i.e., what's a book you're most passionate about)? Please take a minute or two to brainstorm with me. Your help is appreciated immensely!⭒
I will answer your questions in the comments! Please also enter me in the giveaway!
I will answer your questions, but let someone else win the giveaway. :)
I can't think of any answers, but I will help by inviting my friends to participate!
I will answer one of your questions, but I don't know how to answer the other one, lol.
I'm not interested in helping out. :(

2. Grishaverse, cruel prince, song of Achilles, Caraval

Thank you, A.A.! I'm working on that now, you just beat me to it. XD

Alright, for Q1, I think a cool idea is to have two words, one from an exsisting fandom, or any kind of fantastical word, and another one about the products (ex. Wonderland Gifts. Rivindell designs, etc.)
2Q. I thunk a good place to start would likely be LOTR, it is very popular, but on the other hand, that means it is everywhere. A good solution, in my opinion would to have a selection of more obscure series (Ilyon Chronicles, The Inheiritance Cycle, Rangers Apprentice, etc.), but more of the LOTR, Narnia, and so on.
Hope this helps! Again, GREAT idea! I will be inviting Goodreads friends to add more ideas!

Anything LotR, Narnia, Tales of Goldstone Wood and The Rise of Ethrundson. :)

1) The Art of Fandom
2) Starlit Book Art
3) Starlit Design co.
4) Fantastical Fandom Art
5) Starlight and Words
Question 2
I don’t know if these all need to be by Christian authors, so feel free to disregard the suggestions that aren’t.
1) Harry Potter
2) Keeper of the Lost Cities
3) Dragon’s Green (this isn’t super well-known so you could always do a limited time thing with this one)
4) To Kill a Mockingbird (not fantasy but I’d love some stuff related to this)
5) Heartless by Marissa Meyer
6) Percy Jackson
7) A Wrinkle in Time (a classic :))

Would "The Starlit Market" appeal to you?
(Of your pre-given choices, I like Fantasy and Co., personally...)
On the design front, LOTR is an utter classic. The Lunar Chronicles and The Winter King are both books/series that I think would go over well and/or I enjoy. Probably my favorite book of all is "Beauty" by Robin McKinley, so just straight fairytale references would get me happy. *shrug*
Not to push the boundaries of what's called "fantasy", but may I also suggest Winnie the Pooh? I would call it "soft fantasy" myself, and many people love the nostalgia. Not to mention that it's public domain and all ages can access/understand it. I'd add Kingdom Hearts, but I'm pretty sure Disney would come after you like a rabid badger if you touched that one. XD
If I think of anything else, I'd let you know!

2.Nadine Brandes, Bryan Davis(doesn't get enough hype), Given Hoffman, Lunar Chronicles, Divergent, Amanda L. Davis,Catherine Grueben Smith, Gillian Bronte Adams, The Mirror Visitor Series, The Memory Thief, Kara Swanson, The Inheritance Cycle, Marie Lu, and Songs from thhe Deep.

Starlit Swords
Swords and Stuff
Fantastic Fantasy Merch
In Love with Fantasy
The Magic of a Bookworm
Q2: here are some I think would be cool and enjoyed by many!
Keeper of the Lost Cities
The False Prince
The Cruel Prince
And ofc Tolkein and Lewis 😊

Q1: I loved all your shop name ideas but my favorite is : StarlitSwordsandCo. Maybe Starlit Bookworm
Q2: I'd like to see some designs for Jennifer Lynn Barnes ( Inheritance Games & The Naturals) and designs for Ally Carter books. Maybe some fairytale ones.

Q2: Personally, I'd like to see the Grishaverse and Percy Jackson:))
This is such a great idea! Good luck!

Q1: Bookish Baubles, Flights of Fancy, Fantastical Designs
Q2: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Shatter Me, Fourth Wing (<-- this one's trending rn, might be good to capitalize on hehe)

And for q2 my all time favorite book is Once Upon a Broken Heart, and I would totally buy any merch related to it!
I hope that helped! <3

1. I think maybe Horizon, or something like that sounds cool.
2. I think Chaos Walking aesthetics could be really cool and unique for your designs. I'm talking more of the vibe from the books than the "film". I don't believe the film adaptation with Tom Holland really got or understood the premise and message of the book. So... I recommend searching up the book covers for the Chaos Walking trilogy. It's art illustrated on the covers (even the pages of The Noise) really is mesmerizing.

Name: fantasy and co, tied with courts of swords and starlight (I think this one it rly cute, hehe)
I think the cruel prince and Caraval would be great fandoms that could be represented really well!
Other fandom ideas: Maybe the lunar chronicles, the Ilyon chronicles and tLotR, because ik A LOT of people love that series lol. OOH, the false princeee :)
Inviting my friends rn!! :))

I really liked the second name you have, StarlitSwordsandCo. From my own head, I was thinking something like "CrownsandKingdoms" or "AKingdomofStarsandFantasies."
And fandoms I'd like to see would be LOTR, Caraval, The Cruel Prince, and maybe Ilyon Chronicles. I was also thinking maybe Throne of Glass, because it's really popular, even though that's not Christian.
Also, I just invited my friends. 😊

Q2: The Queen's Thief would be incredible. Echoing everyone else about LOTR, Narnia, The Winter King, and Six of Crows.
Sounds so cool!

I like the fourth choice crown of thorn because has a double meaning fantasy and christian. I would say that G.K. Chesterton that it is my favorite writer but thinking in the shop i am going to say J.R.R. Tolkien there is anybody better than him. Because i love the Hobbit i am going to say "The Lord of the Rings".

Keep of Light against the Night
Or simply: Goods of Light against the Darkness
Personally I'd love to see some focus on books like The Deed of PaksenarrionThe Deed of Paksenarrion. There are not many really good books that center on the idea of a Paladin, a Champion of Light or even of God.
Of course The Lord of the Rings, Narnia and so on are a great idea. Lately I've been reading series books that at least shoot for the Champion of Light idea, like Ahren.
I think it's a great idea, hope it goes well.
Thank you all! For those of your who answered The Hobbit and/or The Lord of the Rings, what sorts of designs would you like ideally? Ones featuring various characters, locations, quotes, or something else? Tolkien is also my own favorite character, so it's great to see so many other people who like his works!
I am terrible at naming things, so I will let others take care of that question.
As for books to see highlighted, you know I love The Queen's Thief, so I agree with Elizabeth on that one.😊
Others I would love to see would be The False Prince, Dauntless Path trilogy, Wingfeather Saga, Harry Potter, Ilyon Chronicles, Flight and Flame, and Green Ember.
I can't wait!!

(I’m using the quote at my graduation party )😂❤️

And I'd love to see some stuff for indie and self-published books like Dragon Mage, Aisling, and other indie books

Thank you for your input!
Thank you for your input!

Honestly, I like StarlitSwordsandCo. It's unique and sticks with you. Only thing that might be a problem is it's too long, but I doubt it would be. I say go with that one!
If there was any Tolkien or Sanderson stuff on there, I'd be interested straight away. But making a cool not cringe Tolkien shirt? Shut up and take my money.
Great idea Lilly, wish you the best with it!

Haha, thank you, Jesse! I also love StarlightSwordsandCo, but I've also been worried about it being too long. We'll have to see!
When I've got more of my designs finalized (and hopefully made some fancy ones to suit you XD). would it be okay if I DMed you for some thoughts? It's hard to judge your own work sometimes!

1.)
Maybe "Bookish Fantasy" could be shop name option!? I also like FantasyandCo and CourtofSwordsandStarlight.
2.)
-LOTR
-Harry Potter
-Forgotten Realms (Drizzt is my fave character in FR. A Drizzt shirt would be so cool! He's a dark elf, but not evil like most of them in the genre.) :)
-Maybe some general meme-based shirts, like "draw swords together" with the line drawing of a sword. Just a silly idea! ;)

I would love the Wingfeather Saga, I don’t want much ACOTAR since there is already a lot of that out there, but maybe Caraval/Shadowhunters stuff?

HMMM
I like quotes, and silhouettes overlaid with references to things they relate to (I would post a link to a page that shows what I'm trying to explain, but it will not let me. Look up "shirt dot woot dot com", and in the search bar, look for "dandingeroz". They have designed many cool shirts, and I've bought 2 so far. XD )

2. Story Stylers
3. Plot Palette
a) Daughter of the Pirate King/ Siren Queen
b)Beyond A Darkened Shore/Through the White Woods
c)The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings
E.F. wrote: "I hate to be the Debbie Downer, but you can't sell products or designs inspired by just any book. If a book is still under copyright by the author or the author's estate you legally can't sell thin..."
I wondered about this. Maybe Lily already has that figured out.😊

BTW if you are worried about copy right, there are lots of classic books that are in the public domain.
I take all the work that I do very seriously, so my designs usually have multiple drafts and prototypes. I also don't create anything unless I feel like God is calling me to make that certain design. :)
If you are a professional photographer, graphic designer, or book influencer (e.g. blogger, BookToker, or Bookstagrammer) and are interested in collaborating, please send me a DM and/or friend request!
Here are the questions again. :)
Q1: What are some names you think would be suitable for the shop? (See above paragraphs for shop description.)
Q2: If you could see any book/author/fandom represented in the shop, what would it be (i.e., what's a book you're most passionate about)?
Also, I have brainstormed a few names, but I don't know if you guys will like them. 😅 I want something that accurately expresses the essence of the shop while also fitting in with the Etsy style.
1) FantasyandCo
2) StarlitSwordsandCo
3) CourtofSwordsandStarlight
4) ACrownofThorns
Finally, you will get three (3) extra entries into the giveaway if you invite all your GR friends to participate in the poll! Just make sure to add an extra comment letting me know once you've completed this step.
Thank you so much! <3
Edit: The poll is now closed, and I'll be choosing a winner soon! :)
