:-O I like that one. I walked out of the movie, but found to book entertaining.
I went with Lair of the White Worm because, for me, even pooly done (by popular measures) horror/sci-fi can be entertaining.

:-D I should've guessed you'd use factors such as logic and reason for this challenge. After reading into it, I think I would be forgiving of this author with the age and experience in which he wrote the story... probably better than the fiction I was writing at sixteen.

I was surprised by a number of books people rated as their 'worst', but definitely agree that mandatory school readings certainly doesn't help!

Always a help! Although I hadn't read it, I was surprised to see so many didn't like the book even though it is considered a top classic.

Great Expectations was required reading for me in school, so that would've been a quick read for me, but do enjoy something new whenever possible.

Awesome! That's always a help when locked into something you like . Although I've liked a lot of books, only a few I can name that I couldn't put down.
