Well, the HardSF group here is *also* reading Altered Carbon for their June selection, so that would be redundant.

Of course, that group doesn't discuss nearly as much and this is a very intruiging book with several excellent topics, so perhaps it'd be good to do it here, too. (At least it'd let me catch up a bit in m TBR).

I'll throw in my vote for The Dispossessed: An Ambiguous Utopia. I've had it sitting on my shelf for ages.

A Deepness in the Sky is awesome, but I read it recently again, so I voted Altered Carbon

I voted Altered Carbon, partially because it seems very interesting and partially because it's available for the Kindle.

Ahhh, Oryx and Crake is slipping down the polls...

I've only got Oryx and Crake in great big hulking first edition hardback, but Altered Carbon is a nice paperback, never read anything by Richard K. Morgan, and have another couple of his on the shelf also to be read. So Altered Carbon gets my vote.

The Dispossessed: An Ambiguous Utopia is winning at the mo. I read it a number of years ago. Should make an interesting if slightly intellectual discussion. Not sure how much I'll be able to contribute to that one.
