Vi | 184 comments Will this Keturah and Lord Death by Martine Leavitt work for people kissing? The top of the faces are cut off but the kissing can be clearly seen.

message 53: by Peebee (new)

Peebee | 481 comments Yes, Vi, I'll count it.

Vi | 184 comments Thanks, Peebee!

Yes, that works! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you -- I wasn't getting my notifications.

Suzanne | 216 comments Hi Peebee, do you consider a number a symbol? For 1A, I'd like to use Think of a Number (Dave Gurney, #1) by John Verdon .

Thx!

message 58: by Peebee (new)

Peebee | 481 comments Yes, Suzanne, that will do...that was the kind of thing I was looking for with this task: anything that is an atypical substitution for a letter.

Suzanne | 216 comments Cool, thanks!

I am getting ready to read A Drowned Maiden's Hair: A Melodrama for a different task. Will be curious to see what you think about it ☺

Jayme Pendergraft | 762 comments Hi,

I wanted to see if I could use Adriana Trigiani for 5A. Here's the description of her TV work from her bio:

Among her many television credits, Adriana was a writer/producer on THE COSBY SHOW, A DIFFERENT WORLD and executive producer/head writer for CITY KIDS for Jim Henson Productions. Her Lifetime television special, GROWING UP FUNNY, garnered an Emmy nomination for Lily Tomlin.

In 1996, she wrote and directed the documentary film QUEENS OF THE BIG TIME. It won the Audience Award at the Hampton’s’ Film Festival and toured the international film festival circuit from Hong Kong to London. QUEENS OF THE BIG TIME is now in a distribution deal with New Video, and it will be released in 2008.

Fans can also expect to see Adriana’s work on the big screen, as final preparations are underway to produce her Big Stone Gap screenplay, which she has written and will direct.

Peebee | 481 comments Yes, you can. I recently read The Shoemaker's Wife and have her down to possibly use for 5A myself.

AmandaG (amandag3) | 12 comments Are either of these approved for 1B: Seven Nights in a Rogue's Bed (Sons of Sin, #1) by Anna Campbell (kissing) or Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (breaking up).

Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage is approved; Seven Nights is not (too far away from lips).

Thanks so much!

message 69: by Diane L (new)

Diane L Will you accept Brain Rules 12 Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School by John Medina for 1A? A brain replaces the 'a' in Brain Rules.

that works for me, Evana.

Michelle (mnmgbwi) | 197 comments For #5, part B would the author Alexander McCall Smith work for the last name Smith? Since it is not hyphenated and I'm not sure if McCall is a last name or middle name I thought I would check.

Thanks!

Marty (martymill) | 220 comments For the #2 Rhianna singer option - would Travels with Charley: In Search of America be acceptable (Charley is a dog)?
Thanks!

If it's not hyphenated, then Smith is the last name (and of course, it would also work for "author using 3 names.")

That would be fine...as long as it's set in a location you have visited but have never lived in.

Turtlecollector Dennis | 42 comments Would this book work for 3A-Canadian author? She is American but lives/works part time in Canada as stated in her bio.

Bones Are Forever (Temperance Brennan, #15) by Kathy Reichs by Kathy Reichs

I'll count it, since it's part of her bio.
