Belen (belu) | 30 comments I was just listening to one of my fav of all times album (which is not famous at all) and I thought it applies so much to all of what this group represents.. it was almost a revelation on my way back home.

description

The album is called "The Final Experiment" by Ayreon. I don't have high expectations that you may know it, but if you do, or are willing to give it a chance, I'd love to know what you think about it.

The awesome thing about it, is that song after song you hear the story of how scientist from a future (when mankind almost destroyed itself) have found a way to send messages back in time to prevent this downfall. The message is received by a blind minstrel living in 6th century Britain. King Arthur’s time!

My favorite song is "Sail Away to Avalon"

You can listen to some songs and read more about the story here:

Joe Informatico (joeinformatico) | 888 comments I've heard some Ayreon, mostly because I was a huge fan of Dutch symphonic metal a few years ago (especially After Forever) and almost everyone from that scene has appeared on an Ayreon album at some point.

Musically, I've liked what I've heard. I'm not a big fan of Lucassen's anti-modernist, anti-technology stance though, especially on 01011001.
