Anna's Herding Cats (herdingcats-burningsoup) Can't for the life of me remember the name/author so thought I'd check here. It might be a short story.

I think...
-The hero is a werewolf that's gone into the forest and ends up getting shot at. I think he's a scientist.

-The heroine is a dryad which are nearly extinct.

-She ends up giving up her tree to be with him.

I know it's not a ton to go on but I've been trying to figure out the title for weeks and it's about to drive me crazy. Not sure why it's popped into my head but would really appreciate the help trying to figure it out :)

Purplepaperreader Hi there,

The only book I can think of with a Dryad is Blood of the Maple, but it is dryads and vampires though so not sure if it's what you're looking for.

Good luck, I hate when I can't remember a title! Blood of the Maple (Maggie's Grove, #1) by Dana Marie Bell

Do you remember if it was part of an anthology or a standalone story?

Sounds like Sporting Wood (Naughty Nooners) by Cindy Spencer Pape . It's a short story.

Lisa (lisamessegee) | 120 comments How about Wolf Hills (Brotherhood of Blood #6) by Bianca D'Arc ? The hero isn't a scientist, though.

Anna's Herding Cats (herdingcats-burningsoup) OMG. Michelle that sounds so much like it but the title/author aren't ringing a bell for me at all. Can't imagine there'd be another one so similar though. I'll have to go find a copy and see but that must be it :)

Thanks ladies for the suggestions. It's been absolutely driving me mad.

Jai | 81 comments When I looked up your parameters [(book OR novel OR story) AND werewolf AND dryad AND (scientist OR researcher) -RPG -Who -comic -graphic] online, three books/authors came up:

Mario Acevedo's Werewolf Smackdown

Julia Talbot's Tree Hugger

Cheyenne McCrey's No Werewolves Allowed

Werewolf Smackdown (Felix Gomez, #5) by Mario Acevedo
Tree Hugger by Julia Talbot
No Werewolves Allowed (Night Tracker, #2) by Cheyenne McCray

Anna's Herding Cats (herdingcats-burningsoup) Thanks Jen! I'm gonna have to check all of these out. Love the hero/heroine combo. And Cheyenne McCray!

I'm pretty sure it was the Cindy Pape story. No clue how I read it but it's dead on what I remember.
