PepperP0t | 2106 comments Alley I hope things aren't too horrendous where you are, we just got some rain from the hurricane.

CaroB, great on the spreadsheet and I am determined to read Law May within the next month or so.

So far really liking my book. It's Adult Fae and I don't see many of those around.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments Hope all of you in Issac's path are safe. Those rains can wreck havoc on a house. Alley & Pat, I hope your light stays on for you and you have enough food and water

message 55: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 2106 comments I'm in Georgia so we've had a small amount of rain, nothing like they thought we would get. We're fine.

message 56: by Alley (new)

Alley (alleycatfish) We barely got hit. Just a bit of wind and rain. Lights only flickered once. My nephew lives with my father in a house surrounded by old trees. Their power goes out at the first sign of heavy winds. My nephew was just getting out of his car when the tree fell right beside him. It missed the house, but landed on the power lines, pulling them out of the transformer and it yanked the area on the house where the lines go in a bit too. No telling how long it will take to repair it and get the power back.

My husband got knocked down by the wind on the same day. Like really knocked down. He has a big gash/scrape across/down his nose.

It was very windy Wednesday.

PepperP0t | 2106 comments although it can't be fun Alley, thankfully it was relatively minor and I'm glad your family is safe

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments I'm going to be reading Tempting Evil (Riley Jenson Guardian, #3) by Keri Arthur starting tomorrow.

I love it. I wonder if we will find the same things!

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments I had it listed for my Kick's August Challenge but can't get to it this month. So I figured I would read it for next month instead and use it for the hunt.

message 62: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments I used full moon rising for the Kick 's challenge but I cant put the series down! Didn't expect it to be engaging

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments I've read the first two books of Riley Jenson series. I'm waiting to put them on my Nook but for right now. I'm reading used copy from used bookstore.

Lina REVIEW:
Item: #1 - BED
Law Man (Dream Man, #3) by Kristen Ashley
Book:Law Man
Rating: ★★★★
Finished: 01-SEP-12
Review: This is the third in the Dream Man series. Mitch Lawson comes across harder than his character seemed when first introduced in Mystery Man, and it would've been great if he let Mara finish her sentences every once in a while. I got a little annoyed with how clueless Mara seemed, and just how much emotional baggage that girl was carrying, but overall this was a great book with some heart-warming moments where the kids where concerned. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

*THING: Bed - “I work at Pierson’s,” I told him. His neck twisted and his eyes came back to me. “Pierson’s Mattress and Bed?” Mara's workplace and her selling beds is referred to numerous times throughout the book. First mentioned pg 13 .
Other Items:
*PERSON: Child - “If you didn’t know, you’d think she was my child except she was going to be a knockout because she was already a mini-knockout.” pg 47 .
*PLACE: Mountains - “The city was huge, no one here knew me and the mountains were beautiful and I wanted to see that beauty every day.” Pg 212 .
*COLOUR: Orange - “ The food was fabulous, the décor gorgeous – dark wood, cream leather seats with hints of lime green and bright orange” Pg 209.

PepperP0t | 2106 comments Search Item:Thing - BED
RATING: 4Stars

Shadowborn (Lila Gray, #2) by Jocelyn Adams by Jocelyn Adams

Person:SINGLE MALE On Cover
Place: FOREST A tiny movement drew me back to the edge of a forest, shadow moving within shadow. (pg 56)
Thing: BED The two Mounties and Gallagher stood next to the bed nearest the door. (pg 37)
Colour: ORANGE I scanned the woods but couldn’t have seen a troll wearing blaze orange if it stood two feet away.(pg 59)

My Thoughts: Unidentified forces are gunning for our far from helpless heroine as she also comes to grips with being Queen of the Seelie Court in love with the King of the UnSeelie Cout in book two of the under-read Lila Gray series. As if that’s not enough to be going on with there are appearances from key characters introduced in book one throwing wrenches left and right as this world expands with other members of the preternatural world; the Captain of the Royal Guard makes his desires known for his new Queen, and secrets are revealed that will keep this series on my anxiously awaited releases pile.

Alley (alleycatfish) Week 1: Bed
Divine Misdemeanors (Meredith Gentry, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton
Book: Divine Misdemeanors - Laurell K Hamilton
Rating: ★★★
Completed: 9/2
Review:
I remember why I stopped reading this series. It would have been so much better with less sex. Or less weird sex, rather. I liked the plot - I almost always like the main plot of Hamilton's books, but she ruins it with too much weird sex (view spoiler) . And what is up with her obsession with men having unusually long hair?

Thing: Bed: pg. 16 "You knew what I was before you took me to your bed , Meredith."
Color: Purple: pg. 36 Her dress was purple , only a little darker than my own.
Place: Cliff: pg. 95 Maeve Reed's beach house sat above the ocean, half on the cliff and half resting on wood and concrete supports...
People: Healer: pg.100 She was one of the few true healers that faerie had left.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments Week 1: Bed
Hyde, an Urban Fantasy by Lauren Stewart by Lauren Stewart

Book Hyde, an Urban Fantasy
Rating: 3.75 stars
Finished on 9/2
Review: This was a romantic twist on Jekyll & Hyde. Basically a girl named Eden wakes up one morning in a stranger's bed. After getting information from that stranger, she deduces that she sleep walks and obvious did somethings that she wouldn't normally do. The guy Mitch, was a little ticked off that she wasn't that excited to be in his bed when she seemed so enthusiastic the night before. The mystery begins as they try to solve her sleep walking dilemmas. But it was very obvious that something sinister was amiss and they were both victims of the devious plot.

I enjoyed this book but there is still a lot of missing information, so those unanswered questions keep me from being completely satisfied. I will definitely read book 2 because I just have to know what happens.

I read this book in kindle, so in parenthesis is the kindle location.

Thing: Bed:
She lunged out of the bed, grabbing a pillow on the way to cover her naked body. (81).

People: Child: “Chastity wants me to”—Mitch shot a look of warning at Carter, but kept his tone calm as if speaking to a child—“don’t you?” (1817)

Place: Bar: ‘I’m not responsible for my actions’ thing, don’t let everyone in the club watch you pole-dance on the bar and jump all over me like that.(94-95)

Color: Blue: Her normal mocha-brown color swirled and chased the glacier blue until her true color was all that remained.(1618).
*Cover also Blue*

Lina Awesome work Angie!
Updated Progress report in Post #80 above.

Also, just noticed on the spreadsheet that we're the first team to get a point :-) How cool is that!? Good work everyone!!

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments I don't have the fourth book of Riley Jenson Series yet. I'm waiting until Jenne can read Fated by Rebecca Zanetti which isn't until the middle of the month from what I understand. I'm currently reading The Many Lives of Avery Snow (The Past Lives, #1) by Christy Sloat and The Next Thing I Knew (Heavenly, #1) by John Corwin . I want to finish these books up first. I'm probably gonna start either Pale Demon (The Hollows, #9) by Kim Harrison or Honor Thyself by Danielle Steel .

PepperP0t | 2106 comments We are phenomenal after all! Great team, good for us with the first point.

@Angie: I read the Avery Snow book a couple of weeks ago. What do you think of it?

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 1469 comments I actually liked it which kinda surprised me since it was story about reincarnation. I found Avery to be a likeable character yet despised Lilith and Dedrick. I pitied Landon although I thought he was stalker in his behaviors toward Avery. I loved Dallas and Ianni!

Lina I'm trying to remember when the next item gets called, is it Fridays or Mondays? Are you all feeling fairly comfortable with this now? None of us were newbies, were we?

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Friday mornings... for me anyway. About 24 hours from now.

message 93: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 2106 comments @CaroB I don't think any of us are new except maybe Alley. Also the item is called on Friday's. I know with so many challenges you barely know if you are coming or going.

@Angie-- I barely finished it, Avery was annoying to me but it seems you and I lined up on how we felt about the other characters.

Alley (alleycatfish) The next item is green.

I'm reading Lord of Misrule by Rachel Caine.

Could I count Amelie as a celebrity in this series? She's the Founder of Morganville and pretty much the queen of the vamps.

Other than the people category, I've already found my other items. Yay searchable ebooks.
