Kelly A. | 499 comments lol I should stop rubbing it in, but it's 85 degrees right now (at 5:30!) and the AC is on...I bought cute new boots and I haven't been able to wear them yet!

message 52: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker Yes, please stop rubbing it in Kelly.

Although...it's supposed to be back up into the 50s this weekend here.

haha Kelly..honestly..the only reason I actually enjoy winter is because of all the cute boots I own. :)

Hopefully you will get to wear them soon! I have an idea. How about I'll give you a week of this weather and you give me a week of your weather!?

message 54: by [deleted user] (new)

i wear shorts and t-shirt year round, sometimes a sweater with the shorts but thats it.... i am not cold ever

message 55: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments It's going to be 4 degrees when I leave for work in the morning. I get cold just thinking about it.

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

nice 4 degrees my kind of weather

message 57: by Kelly A. (new)

Kelly A. | 499 comments lol Jamie I'd take it! Seriously...but just for a week! I guess we have bipolar weather here because I got to wear my boots tonight.

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

bipolar weather?

message 59: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I think she means it goes from one extreme to the other. It's the same bloody way in Oklahoma.

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
Hooray! You got to wear your boots! :)

It's just be straight rain for a few days here. I'm ready for snow at this point just so the rain will cease.

Emma I hear Edmonton was the second coldest inhabited place on Earth a couple days ago. My cousin lives there and said he hasn't left the house in 3 days because of the weather.

Oh man. I should stop complaining about it being in the 20's & 30's then! I would never last there!

It's supposed to snow here tonight and tomorrow!!

message 64: by Heather (new)

Heather (andshewontsleep) We're supposed to get that same snow tomorrow night into sunday.. 6-12 inches. I'm not excited for it really, although I've got nothing to do this weekend so sitting inside watching the snow & christmas movies would be nice. I just hope there isn't a parking ban because I haven't gotten my new parking permit yet so there are limited places for me to leave my car.

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

we are supposed to get 3-5 from the storm that is gonna be moving up the east coast, but our forecast changed alittle bit, because on radar the snow has arrived and is supposed to falling tomorrow morning and will last into the night hours, i am a little nervous, but this is not my first snowstorm driving experience, i think that i made about 5 or 6 trips through a few major snowstorms... so it looks like i might have to leave early from work tomorrow and drive home, on the interstate and up the mountain home. Its gonna be a blast trying to get from point A to point B in the snowy mess. My cousin lives in Long island Ny and i heard that he might get up to a foot or more.

well there might be a parking ban inforced so that the snow plows can do their job, i have the same where i live, so i just park my car in the driveway rather than by the mailbox area, because that is where the snow trucks have to do their job

message 67: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments They have similar rules here. In the city I live in you can't park on the street overnight between November and April.

message 68: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments It has been so cold here lately! Usually around this time of the year it gets up to the low 30's during the day. It's 14 degrees outside right now.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

its windy today wind chill of -3

message 70: by Tami (new)

Tami | 3103 comments Mod
Ouch! I would be in complete agony in -3.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

nah, i went out today to get the mail and it kinda felt like -10 but not too bad, my highest shorts wearing weather is -8 on my way to work at 4am

You are insane! :)

message 73: by Kelly A. (new)

Kelly A. | 499 comments We had an 85 degree Christmas, yesterday was 30 degrees and now it is almost 70. I hate Florida! Make up your mind!

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments Kelly wrote: "We had an 85 degree Christmas, yesterday was 30 degrees and now it is almost 70. I hate Florida! Make up your mind!"

lol. We have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes." Sounds like it could be applied to where you live too.

We got a ton of snow last night. I woke up at 3 and there wasn't any new snow. When I got up for work this morning at 6 we had about 6 inches of snow on the ground!

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

everyone says i am insane, but if you grew up in russia then you would know what it is like to live in a cold environment and maybe you would get used to it:)

message 76: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments I've had friends that grew up here and then were in Russia for a couple of years, from what I've heard it's really cold! They have to buy special coats and everything, because the ones they make here aren't really suitable.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

my kind of weather!!! no offense

lol. We have a saying here, "If you don't like the weather, wai..."

haha. We could definitely use that saying here, usually applying to rain though.

I have a friend from Russia too, and when it's about 40 outside he walks around in shorts and calls it 'a bit chilly out.' lol I can't understand that.

In more ridiculous Florida weather, it's going to be 20 degrees tomorrow.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

nobody can :)

message 80: by Sara (new)

Sara I am in London, Ontario. I am used to the snow but were being hit with a bad snow storm right now. We have not had any sort of power failure as of yet. I went to a party last night and they didn't have power but we think it was caused by a car accident.

We had snow/rain and now we just have a lot of snow. I am glad we don't have to pay for heat in our apartment, we have been turning it up, the cats are loving it because they can lay on the heaters and look out at the snow.

Is anyone else here from Canada that is snowed in?

message 81: by Kelly A. (new)

Kelly A. | 499 comments Ok, I realize that I have posted a lot on this thread for some reason, but this one can't go unnoticed.

It snowed today. In central Florida. My roommates calls it 'end of the world type weather.'

Seriously?

message 82: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments Seriously Kelly? That's crazy! Have you ever had snow there before?

message 83: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ash88) Kelly wrote: "Ok, I realize that I have posted a lot on this thread for some reason, but this one can't go unnoticed.

Well if it can snow in central Florida, maybe it will in central California too!! haha. (I realize my logic doesn't make sense but I can hope. :P )

message 84: by Kelly A. (new)

Kelly A. | 499 comments I think the last time it snowed, at least that I can remember, was in the early '90s....before I lived here.

I used to live in southern/central California, and can never fathom snow! Of course I thought that here too...crazier things have happened!

message 85: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ash88) It's snowed here, twice in my life. But I live pretty close to the Sierra Nevadas.... It snows at low elevations every once in a while.

I was just in LA friday to visit my cousin who just moved there. It was between 70-80 degrees all day. It was so nice! But I don't think I could live that far away from a ski resort lol

message 86: by Bárbara (new)

Bárbara (leviathan_) I've never seen it snow properly. The one time I did, we had an arctic cold wave and it only lasted for 30 mins or less - and melted as soon as it reached the ground. I hope to see snow when in Paris.
It's so rainy here right now, my part of the city is nearly traffic-blocked. Very little buses, some floodings. I'm pretty much stuck home.

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

i hear its going to warm up alittle bit in Pa, so a little break from the bitter freezing cold

message 88: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I'm so happy! It's supposed to get up into the 60s next week. I'm betting we'll hit 70 at some point in the next few weeks...and then plummet back down to the 20s, possibly getting another bit of snow. Thank you, Oklahoma.

message 89: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (readerandwriter) We got rain and thunderstorms here in the Bay Area. Supposed to get a break this weekend. I cannot wait until the Summer.

message 90: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 20, 2010 08:58PM) (new)

oh great thats when my semster playoffs end, may 14... great way to end it huh? yea, its above normal here... but might get cold maybe next week...

message 91: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments You can tell when we're getting out of a cold spell. lol. It's in the low 30's and most the students I see on campus aren't even wearing coats. After averaging 12 degrees for several weeks, 34 feels really warm.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

i never wear coats, ever!!

Who has snow???

We have a foot of snow..if not a little more than that. So, I'm snowed in! :)

message 94: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments We haven't had a good snowfall for weeks. All that's left is old, dirty snow and mud. It's rather depressing. I'm hoping we get a good snow fall this week. :)

we got rain, no snow thnk goodness.

message 97: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments The weather here has been insane. (Although for Utah it isn't too unusual).

Last Monday it was so warm that I wore a skirt to work. It was about 62 and beautiful outside. Then on Wednesday it started snowing. Thursday morning we woke up to 2 inches of snow. By the end of the day all of the snow was gone. Today it's raining and in the 30's, and it's supposed to get up to the 60's by Thursday.

Holy hell! That would drive me nuts!

It was nice for like 3 days here and then we had almost a week of cold rainy weather and now it's been real nice since about Thursday. It's been so hot out! I like hot weather so I can't complain! Hopefully you will get some nice weather soon!

message 99: by Kelly A. (new)

Kelly A. | 499 comments The weather is absolutely gorgeous here, sunny, but not hot, and nice and breezy.
Unfortunately, we've only got about a month of it left before it becomes 95 degrees and absolutely miserable until September.

message 100: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ash88) It's been crazy here too! It was in the 70's last week, and then last night we had a hail storm. It was so weird...

haha, Kelly I know how you feel. Same here. It can get up to 110 degrees in the summer and stay there. I want it to get warm, but not THAT warm yet, lol
