I am about a quarter of the way through Dreamless by Josephine Angelini. It is really good, but I have been busy all weekend, so I haven't had much time to read. I have also started The Ask and the Answer book by Patrick Ness. Both of them are the second books in a series and each series is really good, so I have a hard time figuring out which one to read!

I'm in the middle of Tessa Dare's A LADY BY MIDNIGHT. I was at B&N with my daughter over the weekend getting her some books she needs for school and this one popped right out at me. I didn't realize when I bought it that it doesn't come out officially until tomorrow! I haven't been following the release dates as closely as I used to. I started it yesterday and am enjoying it.
I also got my hands on MAD DOG AND ANNIE by Virginia Kantra last week. It was a good read but the first in the series is still my favorite, THE PASSION OF PATRICK MACNEILL.

Cool, thanks! Sounds like I can't go wrong diving into her backlist.
Of course, Graves might be on hold for a while--tomorrow we get new books from EJ, Tessa Dare, and Kieran Kramer, plus the Midnight Scandals anthology. WOW.
Tall Tales and Wedding Veils was the first Jane Graves book I read, and it's still my favorite. But I haven't missed one since, and I've liked them all.
Caroline Linden's The Way to a Duke's Heart releases August 28 too. I liked it a lot, especially the heroine. And I loved the Dare, James, and Kramer all. I also liked debut author Nina Rowan's A Study in Seduction, another August 28 release. The hero's background is different and interesting, and the heroine is a math prodigy (I liked her anyway).
There are also some great August 28 contemporary releases: Nightingale Way, Eternity Springs #5, Emily March; When Lightning Strikes, Whiskey Creek #1, Brenda Novak, and Return to Willow Lake, Lakeshore Chronicles #10, Susan Wiggs.

Theresa, the Novak series is an interesting one. I liked the novella and thought the marriage of convenience in When Lighning Strikes was a great take on that popular trope. But Book #2, When Snow Falls has some really unusual elements. I think this is going to be one of the most interesting of the small town series.
Just finished The Ugly Duchess. Will write more in the monthly read section. I had very mixed feelings--thought the hero should have apologized and explained before he got so high handed with her. Also the first chapter --specifically his feelings about her--seem wildly inconsistent with the rest of the book.
Reading the midnight scandal short stories. I liked the first two. Still working on the third

Read and loved Tami Hoag's Deeper Than the Dead. I know she's been around for a while but it's my first by her. Gonna pick up the next one now.
