oliviasbooks | 261 comments Anorexia, family problems and selkies? I am looking forward to more reviews.

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Is this an older one? I swear I've seen this one around before in searches and stuff.

oliviasbooks | 261 comments No, its not even out. But who knows ...

oliviasbooks | 261 comments I've preordered it now using a 10%-off-voucher from TBD. A risky thing since no ARC reviews are to be found. But I have a good feeling about it.

oliviasbooks | 261 comments I didn't find time to review, but I can say that I liked it and that it is really a selkie story - coats and shapechanging and identity problems and all.

The bulimic sister is more of a side plot and well-done. All in all it's darker than I thought and the hero has just finished school. The writing is nice. Lovely metaphors. But the change of POV is sometimes irritating and the integration of the grandma's past love story a bit forced.

Thanks for the opinion; I plan to check it out. I find that POV change tends to be annoying 99% of the time.

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) It's not so much that they're annoying, it's that there are too many of them these days. I picked this one up while stuck in a Barnes and Noble (is there ever a better place to be stuck?) and liked what I read. Sufficiently dark enough for my tastes.
