Hi Rebecca, it looks like that's a valid edition of your book, and as such we can't remove it. Is there another edition that was duplicated that you need us to remove?

I too have a couple of views showing up for my novel, There Abideth Hope. This first one is what I added.

This next one, I'm not sure how it got in there but it is missing my middle initial.


Can you take the second one without my middle initial out?

I have deleted the one edition with a truncated ISBN,

GR does not remove books, as it is not a bookseller they are not removed if the author chooses to use Amazon's KDP Select services

GR does not delete out of print / no longer available books

I have decided to publish my fiction books under a pen name and have deleted them from my store at http://www.lulu.com/duettists and republished them under the pen name of Fiona Compton at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/fiona_c.... Is it possible for me to delete the fiction books in Good Reads and create another list for my pen name?

Gr policy is to list books under the name they are first published under. New editions with the new name can be added with the new name in the secondary author position which allows the editions to be combined

Hi. My request to join Goodreads as an author was swiftly approved and a dashboard exists.

A book that is not mine appears, the third on my page, "The People of Old Machar...." Could you please delete it?

A book that IS mine and that I mentioned in requesting the author page does not appear. It is ISBN 1578065372, "On the Lam: Narratives of Flight..." AU notation differs (William instead of Bill). Could you please add it?

I am new here, and generally internet-competent, but when I got the "Welcome to the Goodreads Authors program" email, the "Fix your Book Listings" link led into forums where I was not in fact able to post. If that is a matter of my taking intermediate steps or registering for additional capabilities, such as forum membership, I would suggest amending the link or adding clearer explanatory language. I did quite a lot of navigating and registering this morning before I was able to post any sort of notice -- which ended up, I am told, in the wrong place.

Authors likely should join the three official groups/forums -- this one for author concerns, the librarians group for specific book data issues, and Feedback for specific site issues and official announcements. Find them under the top "groups" menu, down the righthand side.

It's very unusual and never been encouraged for someone to edit book data va posts in this group (and others) rather than just redirecting to librarian's group where librarians monitor 24/7 for book data requests. In the case of the above edits, a librarian chanced upon this thread. Doesn't always happen that anyone who can help with the book edits will see the request here. Once upon a time almost every librarian group request was handled within ten minutes (exceptions of course for things they needed clarified or on some more obscure out of print books or covers where took longer to locate acceptable data).

You can send a request directly to staff via contact form under help screens or email; but, librarians group is way, way, way quicker. The librarians group will never consider mentioning your book as spam/promotion unlike potentially in this and other groups -- it's for specific book issues. Most edits to book data, authors can choose to do themselves or to ask a librarian to do (your choice). Outright removing a book no longer going to be published takes a staff member -- can still ask in librarians group but they'll just wait for staff to handle (or you can ask staff directly via contact form or emailing staff directly to [email protected]). Books no longer in print, stay. Covers no longer in print, stay (but can add a new/alternate-cover edition for the new cover or ask librarian to do for you). Things done against database standards which can cause issues with goodreads features like member book catalogs/shelving -- librarians will adjust (see their public manual under help screens if want to know the book database standards).

A few things, like putting books in a series, authors will have to ask a librarian to do (they habitually spot and handle series when reader or author adds a book with series name and number typed with title inside parentheses) -- long story with enough past problems that now only librarians handle series info. Likely if trying to do a book edit and can't, it may be against database policy so just ask a librarian ( for example, authors cannot overwrite published book covers which vandalizes book catalogs of members who shelved that edition or used that cover in various cover listopias, book activities and challenges -- if ever published, it stays because goodreads has book pages of published books rather than a product page of item currently for retail sale. Think "library" "archive" or "inventory/collections" rather than "bookseller" like your book page on Amazon; goodreads has published books versus just books currently fur sale).

Other groups are optional and just run by members here so will have own purposes and rules. Some are bookclubs for fans of a genre or author, some are run by authors/readers to help authors (support,mhow tos, tips, find reviewers...), some are a good place to promote your book (if only on certain threads), others prohibit author promotions, ...

Generally, I'd suggest you feel free to join any groups of interest when wanting to participate as a reader and engage in activities like book-.of-the-month discussions of books you are reading. If wanting to promote your book or to participate as author versus reader, just check how group handles/feels about that participation--unless group description specifically says for authors, very likely the group will at least want author-related activities kept to certain folders.

It belongs to me, but I made some changes, and when saved, it no longer showed up on my Author Dashboard and i couldn't re-link it so I re-created it which is now causing me problems as I can't now add the ISBN to link to Amazon etc.

I've gone ahead and added the book to your author profile correctly, and merged the different editions.

Please note that we don't actually remove old editions on Goodreads. Rather, we create alternate cover editions and set these as the primary on your author profile.

It looks like this book was published before in February. Please can you let me know the ISBN and ASIN you used for this (if it was published in print and Kindle) so I can correct your records. In addition, is the new cover available again in both of these formats, using the same ISBN and ASIN?

Many thanks for that. The original, which has been unpublished on Amazon, was only available in Kindle with the ASIN B01CDDTBCO.

The new version which has been published by Castle Book Publications has the following ISBN's:

Paperback (released end of October):- 978-1-5272-0180-4
