What Kind of Reader Are You?

1. The Sleepy Bedtime Reader not the only place I read, or the only time, but my favorite place to read is my bed.
2. Delayed Onset Reader #1 I really do buy more books than I could ever read.
3. The Chronological Reader I'm a one book at a time reader.
4. The Bookophile mostly old pulp books, I can't leave them.
5. The Cross Under when I was a teen I wouldn't be caught dead with a YA book, now I don't care.
and on occasion... 6. The Hate Reader I'll fess up to it.

Lol! Perfect!

oh, the link, lol
chronol.r., delayed onset r. 1, it's complicated r. :D

And I have a The Cat.

And I need help with book buying. I need to stop. Unread pile is ever increasing in my apartment. (And that is when I'm trying to reduce my spending :( )

Delayed onset reader #1 , really you can never stop buying books. well, at least I can't.
Multitasker + Re-reader. Usually the re-read is my "book on the side" =]
The Critic + the Hate Reader, which kinda go hand in hand for me. I like to pick apart books because it means I'm picking apart my own brain, too. I tend to pay more attention when things disappoint me or piss me off. You like what you like, right? There's more to explain when you don't like something, imo.
I really like the article they linked to, explaining a Hate Read:

Its a concept I can agree with. My most recent read, Cry Wolf, was a perfect example! I hardly liked anything about the book, but somehow I enjoyed it anyway. =/

I`m a hate reader in that I just won`t DNF a book. Definately a delayed onset reader 1 and a multi-tasker. I`m probably an It`s Complicated reader too.

cos I somehow think that if I stopped for more days or so, excuses to do something else would pop like plague, pushing me further and further away from the books until I would end up reading very little or nothing at all within months or years time... and so I keep reading each day, to take daily portions of this spirit meal, lest I get away from the addiction LOL :)))

The Cross-Under - because a good book is a good book. Period.
The Multi-Tasker - the 16 books on my "currently reading" shelf are testament to that.

Delayed Onset Reader #1. (view spoiler)
Mixed with:
The Bookophile. (view spoiler)
and
The Cross-Under. (view spoiler)
with just a dash of The All-the-Timer/Compulsive/Voracious/Anything Goes Reader. and The Re-Reader.
:D

;)

I read all the time (I'm dangerous waiting in lines if I don't have a book with me) and if I don't have anything 'new' I will go back to the old favorites as I can't sit without a book.

That makes me a chronological book re-reader
buster, crossing under multi-tasker.

The cat one made me chuckle at the end. HAHA.

The Sharer.
The Re-Reader.
The "It's Complicated" Reader.
Delayed Onset Reader #1.
The Bookophile.
I was a cross under but not now.
and
The Multi-Tasker.

Yup :) I think I've noticed some friends avoid me when I've not got a book close by because im usually in a much worse mood for not having one.

Absolutely. I freak people out sometimes because I'll be reading a book while waiting in line at the store or the bank. My life is pretty busy. I have to squeeze in reading whenever I can!

I've done that too--not sure if it freaks them out as much as it makes them label me the freak ;) But what else are you going to do standing in line? It's totally boring! Plus, then I maintain a good mood because I'm enjoying my read.

Delayed Onset Reader #1: Compulsively buying books and then not reading them for months (or even years)
The Cross-under: There are some gre..."
17 books at the same time? Wow! I used to joke that I read books like I eat, 3 per day. :-)

I reckon I can top that, I read while walking anywhere, I seem to have also developed a 6th sense for the location of lamp posts, and people as I seem to be able to avoid them even when looking at a book :P

I'm also a bit of a Bookophile and a bit of a Critic. As a Bookophile, I love looking at books, holding them in my hands. The recent closures of several bookstores in my area is almost a personal tragedy. And as a Critic, I love it here, on GR. Reading reviews and writing reviews is rapidly becoming my favorite pastime, second only to reading books.

I learned this skill while in graduate school at UW-Madison. People actually kind of move out of your way if you walk with your nose in a book. You can do two things at once and you get the added benefit of learning new adjectives and nouns in several different languages if you keep your ears open.

Hmm. i think i can be Delayed Onset Type one, and chronological. I think they are missing a few types of readers, though--their list gives too much space to non-readers.
