When editing a book's data, there's an option that states wether it's a book, periodical or article. Magazines, so far I reckon, are not allowed, but I was wondering about articles, essays and short stories that appear in magazines. The reason I ask this is because I read a lot of vintage pulp magazines, mostly sci-fi, and although most of those stories are featured in later anthologies, most of those stories remain unknown.

So, the question is: is it possible to add short stories, novelettes, novellas, articles to goodreads that hasn't a book form per se?

only if they are published independently. For example adding individual stories of an anthology is not allowed unless the story has been published on its own.

If they are published in ebook format i.e. short story on author website

Magazines issues are not encouraged and there for individual stories/ articles in the magazines would not be allowed
