Jakub (jakubasgard) | 15 comments Hi, I hope I am in the right place.
I thought I could update some of the books I read and add Czech editions of them to the site.
For start, I tried to add Ariana Franklin books, but when I tried to add them as new edition, they appeared as "standalone" book and are not listed among editions of the original book.
What happened? What did I do wrong and how can I correct it? Thanks very much for your help. :-)
These are the books I added:

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Jakub - was this one book that was broken out into three books for the Czech translation? If so, we wouldn't combine them with the 1 volume edition...

Never mind, I see what's happening here. :)

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Ok, I got the 2nd and 3rd, and it looks like someone else got the 1st one.

Jakub (jakubasgard) | 15 comments Great... it seems to be alright now.
Does it have to be done manually? :-(

Another question that occurred to me was if its worth to add all book editions (we now sometimes have hardcover and ebook edition). But I am not sure, if its worth adding both of them to the site, considering there may not be that many Czech users here...

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Yes, combining always has to be done manually. We're happy to do it whenever anyone posts a request (or whenever we see a record that needs to be combined).

I'll leave it up to you to decide if it's worth adding each addition - but most of us do. Most readers like to see the specific edition they're reading/shelving, whether it be hardcover, digital, softbound, etc. Also each edition with a different cover is added as we like to see the cover we own on our shelves. :)

Jakub (jakubasgard) | 15 comments OK ... might I use this post then? I'll add all the books I added here to be combined. I usually leave the series original name in parenthesis, so it should be obvious where the book belongs (I also keep original book author name).
I'll start now adding books ... should be interesting ... many Czech editions have nice covers especially those in the series (they usually look just by the cover that they belong to some series). :-)

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Yes, please feel free to use this thread. One of us will see your posts and combine as needed. Linking to the book needing combining, as you did in your first post, makes things much easier and faster. :)

Jakub (jakubasgard) | 15 comments Yes, I will naturally post link to the books I added... I'll start now with those in my collection and then maybe some others. It's about time to see those Czech editions here! :-)

Jakub (jakubasgard) | 15 comments Good job! :-) Thanks very much...
I think I will rest now... did just those that I remember and wanted to have in my collection. Will add more later as I will read them or find time to add them. :-)
