What do you think happened to her ? But I suppose the ministry could find her killed or alive

Duks (cnduks_) | 109 comments Didn't she get sent to Azkaban?

message 3: by Kath (new)

Kath | 17 comments J.K. Rowling said she was arrested and sent to azkaban (which no longer has dementors) for crimes against muggle borns.

message 4: by Kath (new)

Kath | 17 comments I've wondered that from the start.

Shamma8 (s-the-cat) | 14 comments And I always wondered why they didn't just use guns along with their wands , god knows it's easier than uttering a string of spells and wand movements LOOL

Except all the enemy would have to do is put up a Shield Charm and voila.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Yea but I bet Voldemort wished he used a gun to try to kill harry instead of the killing curse after that back lash lol

message 12: by Ciara (new)

Ciara | 109 comments @Vrsh, they decided this as they believed the Weasley's were trapped at the other side of the barrier and couldn't get back, so they would have to go themselves. Ron says it at the Platform.

message 13: by Ishani (new)

Ishani (ishanig) | 425 comments But Hedwig wld take time to reach Hogwarts. And reaching Hogwarts was a priority at that time. They'd have to wait for Hedwig's reply and the term would already hav begun. There's no way they could hav waited that long since Harry couldn't go back to the Dursleys' given his rude departure.

He wouldn't have had to go back to the Dursleys, though. He and Ron just had to wait for the Weasleys to come back. And sure, that could have taken some time (no more than a couple of hours from their point of view, surely), but it definitely would have been the smarter thing to do, since missing the first day of term is preferable to being in trouble with the law (or dead).

yeah, but the whole point was that they were these 12 year old boys who didn't think and acted all irresponsibly. they wouldn't have done it in the later books.

I think that is exactly the crux of the argument. They were just two silly young boys. Like Harry says in the book: "We didn't think..." to which McGonagall replies "That is obvious." Or something like that.

Yes, I've wondered that too.

I wish Jo had shared that on Pottermore.

message 20: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca May | 376 comments Meh, she still might - she's still got a lot of time to do it!

message 21: by Libby (new)

Libby (libbith220) My guess is that if she ever released that information it would be when the fifth book was available.

Oh, I agree. I don't think their actions are unrealistic. I was just responding to the comment about Harry having to go back to the Durselys.
