Did anyone else receive multiple emails when I mailed it out from the group broadcaster? I received 7.

Yep ... 7 ... each 1 minute apart. Must be a "feature" as the say in the world of IT.

I started a thread over at GoodReads Feedback about it. Weird...

I only got 3.

I got all 7... I'd say to try to broadcast an explanation about the glitch, but it might backfire!

I can only send one a day! So far I think 3 people left the group because of it...

I just assumed you were having browser refresh issues and cleared out the extras.

I doubt I am having a refresh issue. Normally it sends the messages very quickly, in relation to the number of members we have (down by 4 now). This time it took a bit longer and that was when I noticed the problem.

I think it's definitely a system issue. It's unfortunate that people are leaving because of it though...

Frankly, it takes a pretty shallow perspective to consider your email a spam message. Take a look at the content folks! This is clearly a system error, either locally or on the host, and not some attempt at something more nefarious.

Yep... It seems that some people have a very low threshold for spam!

I agree. 7 identical e-mails tells me that there's a glitch, not spam. The content alone would tell me that it's not spam.

Really! It's so obvious what happened. Besides, Nick is a great moderator and never abuses things like that.

Well, we lost 2 people overnight and I only received 2 more angry emails! Yay! I figure those that leave really don't understand the group anyways so it ain't bad.

I was going to say, surely they're not anyone who's spent enough time here to realize that you're not a spammer type, Nick. I can't say I understand their mindset, when I saw all 7 identical subject lines in my inbox, I thought, "Whoops, GR must have hiccupped".

Nick, if they didn't take a minute to think about it, you're well rid of them. I wondered why you were Spamming me & then realized it had to be a hiccup. Selecting & deleting the 6 extra messages wasn't that big of a deal. Might have cost me 5 seconds of my life that I'll never get back, but I figure you're worth it - occasionally.

I got 7 as well and just figured it was a GR hiccup too. Gotta love that 'delete' button!
Don't worry about the ones that left, this is a healthy and thriving group. = )

Anyone who is an active participant in this group is not going to drop it because of a little glitch like that. Those 2 (or was it 4) people probably had forgotten they even joined our group before they got those lovely 7 emails.

I just laughed relieved that I hadn't neglected to check my inbox for weeks and missed something important.

I got 7, but I just figured something went wrong with the system or something. I didn't think you were spamming.

I agree with Beth... if people actually left the group over the emails that is pretty sad. As soon as I saw it in my inbox I knew it was a mistake. I simply read the first one and delete the rest as easy as that. Nick you are a great Mod for this group... Thanks for all the work you do!

I got seven emails not a big deal. Read 1 and deleted the rest, figured it was just a glitch with GR.

Spammer, my butt. These people must use the "almighty" Mac and have never had a software glitch--ever. How lame. I got all 7 or however many of the emails that were sent, but no big deal. I know what a delete button is, especially when my parents collectively send me 15 forwards a day that I don't have time to read. I love my folks, but they have a lot to learn about internet and email etiquette.

Awww....i only got two emails this time...

I have a Mac-and no software glitches here! Love Mac! ; )
