Stephanie | 11 comments Divergent is my favorite Dystopian series, Delirium is good (Lauren Oliver's prose<3), and I really liked Brave New World too. I like The Hunger Games, but I wasn't a big fan of Mockingjay. I also have always loved Planet of the Apes (which isn't a dystopian society but it's different than normal, which is what I like about it.) So... Recommendations anyone?

P.s. I haven't read Matched and I wanted to, but some Librarian told me the entire plot of the first book, do unless it's going to be really amazing I've been hesitant to waste my time reading a book that I now already know what's going to happen in it.

D.R. (drmar120) | 8 comments I haven't read a lot of dystopian YA fiction. But I can highly recommend Paolo Bacigalupi's SHIP BREAKERS and THE DROWNED CITIES. Brutal, violent stories of an incredibly grim future; be warned. Not for the faint of heart. But brilliantly, vividly done. I've only seen the movie of HUNGER GAMES. But by comparison, Bacigalupi's books make it seem like a picnic in the park.
