The Yard question

i get the feeling that the new bbc series "Ripper Street" took some inspiration from this novel. Grecian's writing could make a great screenplay!

As a fan of not only horror, but historical fiction, I enjoyed this whole series. I felt it had enough historical facts to engage the reader and to entertain at the same time. I loved the re-emergence of Jack the Ripper.

I've read everyone to date. Great books.

This book was an odd one, for sure. I think the author is up to something perhaps set in an alternate universe. I already have the second in the series on my 'to read' shelf here at home. On the back of the book jacket of the next in the series, The Black Country, there are great reviews of "The Yard" from EW, HuffPost, Booklist, and Kirkus Reviews says it's "One of the ten best crime novels of 2012."

I really enjoyed reading this novel. I plan on reading the other 2 in 2015

This book was fantastic. The second one was good too. I hope he continues with this genre !

What an excellent book! So well written and the characters so likable. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters and also enjoyed book two, The Black Country. I hope Alex Grecian decides to continue this series with many more books to come.

I loved this book!! I love the period and the mystery. I have bought the new one and can't wait to get into it.

i just got the second book in the series, starting it when I have finished "inferno" liked the characters and the story. enjoyed the style too.

If I could've given this book a higher rating I would have. I absolutely LOVED IT!!!! I am waiting anxiously for the sequel to come out around the end of May. As soon as I heard there was going to be a sequel, I went and pre-ordered it from Amazon.

The next in the series is scheduled for release in the summer. It's called The Black Country.

Ooh, fingerprints, dedicated investigators, lots of bodies, what's not to like? Wish I could go back in time and drop hints about luminol!!

I agree Connie. Great novel, I just hope he desides to carry on with these characters. Love the time period and the writing style.
