Actually, looking around my collection I'm mostly rereading stuff rather than trying new books ... /blush

I'm big into hockey, and I'm also a Montreal fan and 'The Game' has to be one of the best hockey books ever written. And it also happens to be about the Montreal Canadiens. I like to read it in preparation for the start of the season, helps me get into "hockey mood" again and it's just a great read.

I'm big into hockey, ..."
"and it's just a great read." The best reason of all for reading a book :)

...and the Elenium and Tamuli
All by David Eddings.
I've read them thrice already, and i'm going over them AGAIN with my wife, out-loud, and we're up to the http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18... right now. Took us almost 3 years, but HEY, WE SPEAK FRENCH but got to get ALL of his books in orignal version, so i'm re-re-re-reading 'em in english for her. Big work, but ever worth it!

I've also revisited Ender's Game, Poison Study, and Cold Mountain several times, but usually I focus on reading new material. There's so much out there I haven't read yet!

Interestingly, he enjoyed it but did not immediately ask for the next one. I'm curious to know what captivates him about Harry Potter Boxed Set, Rangers Apprentice, The 39 Clues Complete Collection, and others that he chafes waiting for the next book but this didn't grab him.

The Harry Potter Collection
The Enchanted Forest Chronicles (I <3 this series soooo much.)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (I always have the intention of reading the whole series, but I tend to stop around book 3.)

-Song of Ice & Fire series. As above, I am into book 3 again, in preparation for Dance of Dragons.
- The first 4 or 5 Honor Harrington novels.
- WEB Griffin's (not sword or laser) Brotherhood of war series. I'm an Army-wannabe (at age 44, I guess I'm now a never was?), and these still tease me.
- There's quite a few I feel like reading again, now that I'm 20 years past reading the stuff I read when I was young. Like Dune or Thieves' World or Piers Anthony.
- Patrick O'Brien's Aubrey/Maturin series, I'm on the 2nd time through.
- Star Trek novels, old series-- Diane Duane's Romulan quadrilogy, the Piper miniseries, and John Ford's pair. These I read over and over, by far the best of the lot.
