Josette, are you a published author?

Well, sort of. The quotes system on Goodreads is for quotes from books, stories, famous wits, other famous people. Goodreads likes to call them "notable people". It isn't intended for us ordinary people to add their own personal catchphrases and suchlike although I'm sure we all have a few that we could add.

Thank you

Yes. The error is still there.

If the quote is not from your book or is mis-quoted then we can correct those things

Looks like someone deleted it anyway.

Since it looks like you added them yourself and no one had "liked" them I have removed them. Generally, we don't remove a quote that has been liked unless it doesn't meet the Goodreads criteria.

I need to edit (or delete) this quote of my own:

"Los Cazadores dicen que nosotros somos la maldad personificada, pero no se dan cuenta que los Mortales son capaces de hacer cosas peores que nosotros, a causa de su ignorancia y miedo a lo diferente… o a algo que cambie su estilo de vida"

Thanks a lot!!! :-D

I was wondering if anyone could help me with editing this quote I added to the GR database:

I forgot to select the book title tab. It should be Flame of Sevenwaters #6. Thank you!

It should be a hero for WondLa (book #2) and not Search for WondLa (Book #1) Thanks!

Could you please delete this quote for me? I added by mistake the book as well as the author. Thank you!

One question. When the author's name is spelled in other than Roman alphabet, what is the best way (or default) to add a quote, with his name spelled with Roman alphabet or with original language? "Haruki Murakami" or "村上 春樹"?
If you tell us what the author's name is, we can fix it for you.
The author's name can be listed either way.

Gone. With a Japanese language quote it would make sense to use the Japanese version of his/her name. It could depend upon who you expect to read the quote.
EDIT: I deleted it 'cos only the adder/OP had liked it. A page of Japanese script was a lot to decode. The OP is probably in the best postion to re-add it correctly.

I made mistakes on two quotes I posted. Is there any way to delete them so I can make corrections?

One of them has been liked by someone else, so strictly speaking, No. You can post the correct versions here and both will be fixed.

“How long were you standing out there?"
"I don't know. Forty-three minutes."
"You must be freezing. And a stalker.”
This quote was supposed to be filed within the title of the book (Wolves, Boys & Other Things That Might Kill Me) not the author but I accidentally hit "save" before I could click the book title.
I wonder why a person who added the quote can't edit it if they made an error or delete it. Strange.

“There's this new guy who is really great who I've thoroughly offended."
"Teenage boys don't listen enough to be offended.”

thank you for fixing these, I appreciate it :)

In 99% of cases the person who adds a quote is NOT the author, just someone who likes the quote

I think they can if the number of 'adds' is low.

Anyway, if someone could delete it for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Only librarians can edit / delete quotes, not even the person who adds the quote can edit for a number of reasons

I want to say again that I think this is a very strange policy on the part of Goodreads. You're telling me that if a person likes a quote that is not by the person's name it's attributed to, it can't be deleted? If someone posts a quote by Stephen King it's attributed to me and someone likes it, for example? Very strange for a company that's dealing with intellectual property and copyright issues on a daily basis. It also can be construed as libel.
I know you didn't create the policy, Paula, and I'm not attacking you--I appreciate what you've done--I just think it's all very odd.

Not quite.
In this case, since no one had liked the quote it was a no-brainer to delete.
If someone had liked it we would have wanted to make sure it was incorrect before deleting it. It might have been wrongly attributed due to a typo or belonged to another author with the same name, in which case a librarian would have edited it to be attributed to the correct author instead of deleting it outright and the record the user had of liking it.
For what it's worth, librarians are volunteers and deletions are permanent. Librarians who delete things unnecessarily and/or incorrectly risk loosing their editing privileges, so I think we all tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to deletions.
