Poison Princess is a bit of both actually. The characters are high school age, and in the beginning there's some high school drama. :/ It's why I warn that the first book can be deceiving, especially in the beginning. The characters grow, mature and evolve though as they develop. It's one of the things I love about this series. That and the unique story. Also, Death's character... so much like Barrons, in my opinion. ;)

Only book 1-3 is out currently but i LOVE IT! Now obviously the books are different in obvious ways but they both sort of got that same vibe that made me love them both and i mean Ryder is the most hottest fictional guy ever.. might even beat Jericho... i dunno but maybe
Also... the female lead... yeah you'll probably love her sooo much!

I do know a series that can satisfy your cravings (If you're still having a fever). The first book in the series is called Captive Prince. Start reading it, and you will be unable to put it down: it will seep in your brain like a worm and before you know it you'll be waiting frantically for the 3rd book to come out.
Warning though: it focuses on same sex couples. But it's amazing. So, utterly amazing.

Believe it or not, but I was coming here to write about CP! Looks like I am not the only one going crazy over the wait for the last (cries) book. Captive Prince = AMAZING

I read the first two or three in this series. I have to get back to it.

Outlander - it is EPIC. The first 40 pages are slow but when she goes back in time it really gets good!
H.P. Mallory - my favorite series are the Dulcie O'Neil and the witch ones, I forgot the name… And she has some other good series too.
I'm with you the Black Dagger Brotherhood got pretty cheesy and I loved the Sookie books but they did lose their spark.

Check out the Black Jewels Trilogy. This series ruined me just as much as the Fever series did. It's not an urban fantasy but it amazing and with fantastic alpha males and badass females you just fall in love with.

Please let me know if you enjoy it whenever you get around to reading it.

The main in the TOG series is one of the best kick ass female characters I've read..and without spoiling anything it's going well in the two characters that complete each other. Like many series it takes a while to get therebut it's been worth it. Great world building, the Fae and other characters.

I started reading the First book I'm about a hundred pages in and I'm liking it a lot Sbcurious. The reviews made Celaena out to be a total priss. But she becomes a lot more kickass the book goes.

Is it YA or is there adult content as far as violence and sex?

Thanks :)

A Court of Thorns and Roses
A Court of Mist and Fury
A Court of Wings and Ruin
Give the first book time. It is so good!
That same author has another series in the fae world starting with this one
The Assassin's Blade

did you read the Thrones of Glass series? I liked that one as well.
I was missing the Faery world so I started reading The Iron King. I hope it's good.

I've heard of the Iron King Series, might give it a go myself if it's good!

Some of the qualities this series shares with the Fever series (particularly the last 3 Fever books) are:
-a ‘broken’ protagonist who is fundamentally flawed
-High impact scenes and gore
-Patois (more prominent than the Keltars in Fever)
-A detailed exploration of the main character’s inner mindscape and thinking processes
A warning, if you are a fan of the first half of the Fever series and are not a fan of where the series has gone since ‘Iced’, then you may not enjoy Downside so much. Likewise if you are strongly anti-drugs or a strong believer in self-determination, then you may want also want to steer clear. Otherwise, enjoy!

This book series is the life saver that got me out of my own Fever hangover all those years ago. Trust me, it's good. There is a couple with a slow burn romance - just like Fever. And it focuses on hunting supernatural beings - just like Fever (it's just vampires not fae).
The whole series also has the same urban paranormal vibe - just like Fever!
It doesn't have as much complex fantasy intrigue as the Fever series, but it's still very very good.
Night Huntress Series (Halfway to the Grave):

As a 2nd recommendation, also consider reading Uprooted by Naomi Novik! It also has a slow burn romance, with an excellent and intriguing male and female lead. The fantasy aspects are very detailed and fascinating here.

The Charley Davidson series by Darinda Jones is absolutely incredible. I definitely recommend it to all who love a hero who is good even though it is not supposed to be in his nature. I love heroes who are complex, and aren't one dimensional. I like a little good in my bad boy, but not nauseatingly sugar sweet, which is why I adored Barrons.
Obviously nothing will top the fever series, but this series was close. also the downside Ghosts series by Stacia Kane is incredible too, the hero and heroine are unorthodox but a great read none the less.I ended up putting both of these series in my favorites list, which is high praise for me because I hadn't put another series on there since I read the fever series two years ago. Sorry I'm rambling but, another of my favorite series is the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. I hope this helps someone find a great read.
