"A number of sellers are selling condensed or incomplete versions of The History of Sir Charles Grandison. As far as I know, there is only one complete version available - the 1647 page paperback published originally by Oxford University Press in 1986, and currently being reprinted in small quantities by arrangement with a publisher in New Zealand. I am currently writing this review on the page for that editon, although I notice that Amazon has posted reviews for other editions on this same page...."

She doesn't mention who the publisher is, but maybe you could email Oxford University Press, or email her, she's a Vine Voice.
I'd also search abebooks, alibris, and any other small used book merchant.

I can find the OUP edition used, even on Amazon, but the prices seem to start around $500 and just go up from there. I will write to OUP and see if I can luck into a copy that way. I suppose I could try interlibrary loan as well, but if I'm reading 1600+ pages, I don't think I can enjoy that in 3 weeks...

Here are the first 4 volumes as an ebook:

For some reason when I've done ILL it seems like the check out time is longer than the normal three weeks. I don't know if that's based on the library it came from or some other reason, though.
I love ponderous novels for the wintertime and would like to spend this winter with Samuel Richardson's "Sir Charles Grandison." I want to find a copy that is: 1)in print i.e. not $100, 2) the whole text non-abridged, and 3) not ammended for modern readers.
Does anyone know where I can find such a copy or where online to look for out of print books like this? (Amazon is not helping.)
