You're always welcome, book-sister.
I'm not quite done with Inheritance, actually (60 pages left,) but I am very disappointed. It's such a shame, too, because up to a certain point, I was really impressed with the progression of the series (I loved it, in fact,) but now it's totally anti-climatic...:(

I read that a lil over a week ago. It was my first Hoag book, I must say I liked it. I will look for more of her work.

NNNNNnnnnnnoooooo!! My heart just dropped. Did our young author forget what got him writing in the first place? Did his ideas get too large? Or too detailed?

That is upsetting, book-brother. Very upsetting... :/

Alondra Miller Started reading The Maze Runner and got ticked off because i had to clock in for work. .... really.

the book is fantastic and i am only on page 36.

I am so very sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but yeah, it is VERY anti-climatic. It's such a shame, too, because it had so much potential, I thoroughly loved it up until a certain point, and then.. nothing. Blah, talk about a snooze-fest! I literally had to force myself to get through it!

Again, I do apologize..

Hi, Rachel!

You could always join us for the Atlas Shrugged buddy read, if you're interested.:)

Rachel the Book Harlot Awww, thanks so much, Dustin. I've tried to read it before but it just wasn't for me. How about you? Are you liking it so far?

message 322: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 10, 2012 08:13AM) (new)

I've just started This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don’t Touch It. It's described on the jacket as a combination of Doug Adams and Stephen King. I'm about 25 pages in and it's pretty amusing. Still waiting for the scary stuff--it has potential.

You are very welcome, Rachel!

So far, I am loving every word. Thank you for asking.:) Rand's writing never ceases to amaze me.. not yet, anyway, but I'm only 71 pages in. Her characters are incredibly vivid and complex, I just LOVE IT!

Rachel the Book Harlot That's awesome, Dustin! It's such a wonderful thing when a book can move us like that! :)

Terri, the title of that book is hilarious. Sounds fun. :)

I decided to go ahead and start North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. It seems to be helping my reading slump.

message 326: by Dustin (new)

Dustin | 797 comments YES! It's been quite awhile since a book has moved me like this!!

I hope you enjoy it, Rachel.

Rachel the Book Harlot Thanks, Dustin! I'm 24% in and so far I like it. :)

Veronica (veraj121) | 328 comments I am reading a very controversial and sensitive book called Aphrodisiac by Mercedes Keyes. She is an African American author who writes on interracial relationships. However, this isn't the controversy with this book. This book goes into very sensitive subject which many people may be uncomfortable with. I love authors who dare to push the envelope or write on subjects others are afraid to touch. I was recommended this book by my sister-in-law mother. And I recommend this book to those who are not shocked or offended easily.

I think you would like. You will at least have a lot to say about it. Its a book one can have in their discussion group and create a heavy debate ( and not because its an interracial relationship).

I will tell you one. (view spoiler). That is just a teaser. There is more. But have to read it. This is just a vague description and there are a few things that happens that makes this very, very sensitive.

Just finished This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don’t Touch It. Outstanding!! It's the story of a pending apocalypse and it has everything--evil, horror, wit, irony, humor, monsters, friendship and love. I liked it as much or more than any King book I've read. A great reading experience! Now I'm starting Graveminder. I'm not usually that into horror except for King, but I'll give this one a try. It was a GR finalist in the genre for 2011.

This is one of the downsides to ebooks. It's sad that you cannot lend them out or read them on any device of your choosing.

Meryl (crossconnect) I am done with "The Giver" by Lois Lowry. I also happened to finish "The Sun On Fire" by Christopher Nicole. Both are outstanding books. However, I wish that no other crazy bookworm would be in a condition as pitiable as mine. I have no books to read!
