Young Adult Fiction for Adults discussion

My hubsand is on vacation this week and I want to find a book we will both enjoy...... suggestions?

What do you and your husband like?

These are different and you posted under YA for adults so they fit there.

These are a few books and series that my grown sons, their wives and daughters liked and so did my brother and myself.


City of Bones I Am Number Four Nevermore Poison Study Graceling
This isn't YA but I know two husband/wife couples who read it and loved it -it's not YA because it is not about teens and more complex than a YA book. A Discovery of Witches

Another one that is not YA but my son, brother, and I liked a lot The Last Templar

If you like historical fantasy:
The Shadow of the Lion by Mercedes Lackey, Eric Flint, Dave Freer (part of a series, but ok as a stand-alone)
The Explosionist by Jenny Davidson

If you like dragons, griffins & things:
Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff
The Floating Islands by Rachel Neumeier
His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik


If you like ghost stories:
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
The Other Side of Dark by Sarah Smith

If you like contemporary fiction:
Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John
Shift by Jennifer Bradbury
Wonder by R. J. Palacio
anything by John Green
