hmmm so I guess I should skip this one? I've been thinking about reading it but I've heard so many mixed reviews.

Lottie Eve (lottieeve) | 74 comments Yeah me to! Some people say it is great some say it is horrible. But i am reading it anyway(the trailer was just to awesome).

Arpita Pandey | 8 comments nope didn't like it... starts of kind of ok but as u get ahead its just turns out out to be a dissapointing paranormal novel with a sappy romance..

Hannah I actually really did like it! I can't believe I haven't read it until today (yes, I read it in one sitting). I'm really exited for the sequel, which comes out on the 23rd this month! :D :D

Lindsay (godrinknailpolish) | 2 comments I liked this book a lot, although I have to admit I was a little confused about the genre of this book. It pretty much is just a general 'issue' book with Mara suffering with PTSD and everything. Nothing overly paranormal happens until about 3/4's into the book and even then the 'paranormal' incident is kinda weird. I don't even know how to classify it. I guess we'll find out for sure what's going on later in the series though.

Ashley Williams (asgwilli) I like this book.. it is odd, BUT that's what I liked about it. I was intrigued to see what was going on. I liked the romance aspect and <3 Noah. I personally would recommend it. The trailer for the second book is awesome and I think the paranormal aspect will just build from there!

This sticker reminds me of Mara Dyer...

Emilia (doctorherondale) | 186 comments I LOVE this series!!!!!!!!! I like reading Mara's point of view. It's refreshing and a strange look on life. The plot is original and it's addictive. Plus Noah is a awesome. He is good for Mara by being so kind and helpful. I am really sorry for this crazy comment but I just had to express my love for this series!!!!

Chrissa (chrissahilar-u) | 16 comments Love this series too! :) Can't wait for the third book! Noah Shaw is one of my best book boyfriends. He really does care for Mara. ❥

Emilia (doctorherondale) | 186 comments Yes he is!! :) if only more people were like him

Basma | 152 comments I have never read this ... Is it good ?
Would I read it or not ?

Basma | 152 comments Should*

🍁 katie 🍁 (kat_kin) Have read the first book. Really enjoyed it but the ending was a bit weird. Am going to keep reading the series and is definitely worth the read.

Emilia (doctorherondale) | 186 comments I recommend it. You should definitely read it.

Ashley Williams (asgwilli) I recommend it as well, it's a very different/darker/weird read, but I really like it!

Chrissa (chrissahilar-u) | 16 comments @Emilia- Yeah, he's super oh wow. I love his accent too!! :)

@Basma- I definitely recommend it. The second one will get your mind crazier. so many questions. LOL. :)

chinami | 126 comments love it

Basma | 152 comments I just downloaded the Ebook ... I will read it then get back to you :)

Basma | 152 comments Just finished the first book
I have to say it was really good but also really confusing ... I'm at page 100 in the second book and I'm still confused :p

Emilia (doctorherondale) | 186 comments Yeah it's confusing but the confusion adds to the allure of the book :D

chinami | 126 comments Emilia wrote: "Yeah it's confusing but the confusion adds to the allure of the book :D"

true

Samantha A This is not usually my genre but I enjoyed it immensely! It might be because I was expecting it to be awful haha but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I have The Evolution in transit at the library, can't wait to pick it up.

chinami | 126 comments Vrinda wrote: "I find this series incredibly confusing. Is it just me or has nothing actually happened, 2 books in? It's just a lot of eerie vagueness. Something's happening...but we're not told what. She does..."

i have read the two books. both were great. the confusion in mara dyer is cue for some awesome revelation in book 3. this book by being confusing is less predictable and intriguing.
for a debut author hodkin is doing awesome. whereas patrice michelle is an established author with more tricks. lucid was great but brightest kind was not that well written. it had some bad writing too.
i have a feeling the retribution of mara dyer will be excellent because she can do anything to the series now that it had certain amount of vagueness to the previous books. the vagueness has enhanced the potential now.
i felt that very less was happening too. there were coherent parts and some strange sub plot in non coherent mode. but that is one way of narration. actually that is why i love this series so much. because of possibilities and exploring the potential.

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) I love the first book. It was a slow read at first but the ending surprised me. Totally mind boggling.

chinami | 126 comments Vrinda wrote: "But...there's no story? What's the plot? After two books, there should be a plot. I would summarise this as...some odd things have happened. And that's it."

it is not a definite plot i guess.

Sarah Burgener so good. read it. read it. there is a major plot twist. read it. do it now. you won't regret it. I love Maras character so much.

Chloe Jane | 15 comments I thought it was amazing!

Rebekah I just finished reading this last night. This is one of those books that I think was well done for the most part and the writing was just exceptional but the book wasn't really for me. I don't like scary stuff like that and I readily admit that I am more sensitive than most people in that area. I liked the plot twists and mysteriousness that surrounded the novel. I think that was well played. The last twist of paranormal nature I was not sure of. I think when I read paranormal I want to know about it. I think its very hard to sneak a paranormal theme in a book and get away with it.

Cindy (cindymelina) At the very beginning of this book I really got bored and didn't touch it for some days but when I decided I had to finish it I got to really like it, I guess I found the first few pages kinda boring but then it got more and more interesting and I finished almost the whole book in a day I also loved the twists it has, you can actually feel the confusion Mara is going through and feel really bad for Noah. I loved it, I am now reading the evolution of Mara dyer. I'd recommend it

Elizabeth (aconight) I adored this book. Just finished it, I tried to hold off until I received the second book but couldn't. That ending was amazing. I can't wait to get the seconded in the mail.

Ricky (spider-fan) I'm partway through this one now and I gotta ask...is there some supernatural reason why Noah can smoke with no ill effects? If the answer is spoilery, don't provide it.

mysticpancake (mysticpancake24) | 3 comments OMG I've just read this series and am sooooooooo excited for the last one!!!what do you think will happen?

Brooklin Banks | 55 comments I can't say that I liked this book a lot like some of you can, but I can say that I LOVED this book
Ha ha

Shawna | 9 comments This book was so good. I wanted to read it for about a year, but I had trouble finding a copy. I found one copy at my local book store this week so I bought it and started reading. I didn't want to stop reading. I ordered the next book before I finished the first one because it isn't available at my local store. I hope that the next book arrives soon because I finished the first one today.

Livia Hirsch I absolutely loved this book! I has become one of my favorite

Sherlee Velazquez (doelisherlee_16) | 29 comments I love love love this book!! It's kind of creepy but you just want to know what happen next. The second book The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #2) by Michelle Hodkin it's CRAZY good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

C.C. Faye (ccfaye) | 10 comments This book is really my style, with weird happenings, strange mysteries and psychological. But I'm kinda gross about some gory parts like meeting her past boyfriend. I can't wait to read the last book! I've read the second and I'm still waiting for it!

Abida Mim | 3 comments I personally loved this series. It was fun for me to read. Honestly, how could it not be... it has Noah Shaw. He is the PERFECT book boyfriend!

message 44: by Lina (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lina | 79 comments I liked the book, it was creepy and unique in her own way. I liked the characters, the plot, the writing style. Our main heroine Mara was creepy, unique, smart admirable for big things( the accident, helping the puupy), Noah our main hero was funny, interesting, cocky, i loved him and Mara together, they had an amazing chemistry, those who are fans of creepy and unique things should start reading this book.

Lynne Stringer | 344 comments I liked The Unbecoming but I wasn't too thrilled with the final book in the series.

Nicolina | 6 comments Love the creepiness!! Also Noah is sooooo precious! And little Joseph - just loved him!
