Desperado (lethallovely) | 1360 comments Only one 5-★ read this quarter: The Mane Attraction (Pride, #3) by Shelly Laurenston
Four 4.5-★ reads: The Proposition by Judith Ivory Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved, #1) by Cate Tiernan Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1) by Leigh Bardugo In the Company of Witches (Arcane Shot, #2) by Joey W. Hill

This quarter I was disappointed by authors I can usually depend on to provide me with awesomesauce reads & sequels that were shitty in comparison to their predecessors. I'm hoping the rest of 2012 will be better because right now the only thing that's keeping me from losing my shit is my love of great reads.

Steph (angel4492) | 32706 comments I'll have to move Allison Hewitt up on my list, Laura. Glad to hear you liked it so much. I also have #2. Have you seen that one? Sadie Walker is Stranded (Zombie, #2) by Madeleine Roux

I normally have a boat-load of 5★ reads each quarter, but only a few this time:
Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) by Gena Showalter Wool (Wool, #1) by Hugh Howey The Angel (The Original Sinners, #2) by Tiffany Reisz Seven Day Loan (The Original Sinners, #0.5) by Tiffany Reisz Archangel's Storm (Guild Hunter, #5) by Nalini Singh

Some of those were between 4.5-5★-reads for me, so I bumped up to 5 when I rated them.

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments 5★ The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate Quiet The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain Seraphina (Seraphina, #1) by Rachel Hartman Red-Eye Dawn (Turbulence, #3) by Jordan Castillo Price The Dragon Who Loved Me (Dragon Kin, #5) by G.A. Aiken

4½★ Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling, #11) by Nalini Singh Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved, #1) by Cate Tiernan Darkness Falls (Immortal Beloved, #2) by Cate Tiernan

I don't usually read children's books but Ivan blew me away. The Immortal Beloved books were also a surprise hit but then they were rec'd to me by the same person as Ivan.

The Turbulence books are free from Smashswords, I think.

Steph (angel4492) | 32706 comments Ames, your list reminded me that I have to read #2, Darkness Falls. I loved the first one.

I'm wondering, Laura, is that a series that will feature a new character in each book w/no connect to the first?

message 10: by Lala (new)

Lala | 1065 comments I don't know, but it seems like there is no Allison as a main character :( there will be Sadie. I would like to see what else happens to Allison.
