Why did the media run with this before thinking it through? No fact checking? Everyone who ran this story originally should have to answer for this?

I really think that media nowadays is lacking in everything except jumping the gun on a sensational story.

Sadly this doesn't even surprise me anymore.

I love it when articles use the line "studies show" with nothing to back it up.

I can do a study of my pets in the backyard and find all kinds of relavant results to be used in articles. Hmmmm.... I may be on to something there.

Ooh, I'm with Sherrie on post #5...if you say "studies show" you damn well better have a citation to back it up. Damn well better.

I also dislike the word "prove" in the context of "this study proves that..." Bullshit. It's just one study.

how bout "survey says!"

I was always taught to say, "the study data are consistent the hypothesis of ...." Or, "the study data seem to support a conclusion of ...."

Where were you taught to speak? In a laboratory?
